At present it appears to be out of print. The Warcraft Battlechest that they're offering is for Warcraft III, I'm just glad I didn't give up my Warcraft 2 or 1 discs.

It looks like there's still some independent sales of the game online. Also, I actually came across a site that offers a download of the game.

Though, GOG's still probably not going to get it through a license agreement for now.

I don't think it is either truth be told. Especially given that it's a free download. I just brought it up since I came across it working on the previous message. There's probably other sites as well that will have the game, but including GOG there's probably very few legal outlets for independent distributors, and none of them would have something with a healthy license.

Even worse if they had asked money for it, since the game was never released for download, only through physical distribution.

Anyhow, I would ask that you remove the link, since you're not exactly doing GOG a favour by linking to pirated games on their boards. They don't mind us talking about it and acknowledging that pirated copies exist elswehere on the 'net, but directly linking is really going beyond our liberties as users and customers.

That is actually really expensive tbh :S In the UK it is only about £10...Scratch that, its that price USED >.>

Inspired by this thread, I decided to send Blizzard a nice e-mail asking them to make their older games available again, at least the ones they don't already sell from their own store (suggesting GOG as a channel, of course). I doubt I'll hear anything back, but for each person that tells them we want the games, there's a slightly higher chance they might consider it.

It'd be cool to see Blackthorne and The Lost Vikings on GOG.

Indeed, I specifically mentioned those as well, seeing how I didn't know about them before they were no longer available.

Since I'd very much love to regain access to Warcraft II as well (a friend of mine lent the CD and never gave it back), would you suggest some form of cooperate effort?
If a multitude of us sends an email it might not be actually perceived as such because different people could handle the requests depending on time.
Would you have any idea on how we could contact Blizzard so that they see there's more than just a few dozen of us and actually escalate the message to higher ups?

I have no idea about organising cooperative efforts, so I'm afraid I can't help you there (or me, or us, anyway...).

They usually answer the support tickets in a few hours (faster if it is about a hacked account). But that is for their support section, I tried asking there a few times, and always got a similar answer (working on more important games, not in our plans...).

Btw, what email address did you use? Maybe they have some 'business' address that users can email to, that probably goes directly to those in charge?

(Also, probably the best way to get a result is to talk with the those in charge during BlizzCon. Contacting their community managers may work too.)
