They are all on sale now on Steam I notice. I've never tried Warband or these newer ones but they look like they could be fun. Any comments comparing them? I checked how many people were playing each one just now for the heck of it and found Warband had about 4k players, War of the Roses about 1k and Chivalry lead with about 5k. It seems they all have their fans.
Chivalry is said to be the best of them. Warband is the most popular because of the mods.

War of the Roses looks the best (I think?), but it's not that good, I've heard.
Also depends completely on what you want to do

Warband is primarily single player and the other two are primarily multiplayer.

True. Warband has pretty big sandbox campaign (with no clear goal, you just do what you want, complete quests for kings, become a king, or something) and it has fun multiplayer mode. (note: Napoleonic Wars DLC is multiplayer focused, it only has skirmish mode in SP)

A comparison between Chivalry & War of the Roses. Mount & Blade is an entirely different beast
Well Mount & Blade games are open-world action RPG's, afaik Chivalry and WotR are multi-player first-person shooters with bows, arrows and swords instead of guns.
I'd say Warband.

The single player is good, and it has a load of amazing mods, including: Floris, Prophesy of Pendor, Brytenwalda, Vikingr and so on (I use Floris, it's a single player mod that enhances almost everything about the normal Warband).

There's also a multiplayer community, and multiplayer mods too, not to mention the Napoleonic Wars DLC, which was (I think) made by the guys behind the similar mod, Mount & Musket.
I haven't played the other ones but Warband is great. The best action game version of medieval warfare that I have tried.
Unless you want something visually appealing, then you probably shouldn't choose Warband. It looks the worst from them all. :P
WotR disappointed me. I got a beta access, but I stopped playing after about an hour. It's fun, don' get me wrong, but with no SP or campaign option (which would have been awesome in MP or co-op) it just falls flat.

Warband feels sterile at first, but it does have a lot of gameplay to offer, if you can stomach the presentation and the lack of any "real" content apart from conquering and forging a kingdom.

Wow. That was a really great and in depth comparison. Thanks a lot for linking that. I enjoyed watching it. They both look awesome to me.
Only played a little WotR during the beta, never tried Chivalry, but Warband is amazing. :x

Time was ticking down on the flash sale for this so I went for it. I've been tempted a number of times and passed before but at $8.74 for the collection I couldn't resist it. I think I'll have some fun with the sandbox world where I had so much fun in Morrowind without ever doing the story quest at all. I wound up just exploring all over and taking over various places, killing the Vivec guards and stealing everything in the treasury, etc. and then moved on to play some fun mods as well. I'm sure I spent over 100 hours playing that and I never did find out how the story went. I do mean to go back and play it again for the story sometime as a different class.

The multiplayer in this looks like it must be a lot of fun too. I'm still thinking about the other two although I am leaning towards Chivalry. War of the roses does look fun as well though. I really love medieval themed games.

Maybe i will grab Chivalry and wish list War of the Roses for now. These damned sales make me crazy. lol

I just got my copy of Chivalry in the post yesterday from backing the kick starter. I have to say its more enjoyable then war of the roses. It just seems to control a little better. Though depending on peoples internet connections on the server it can seem a little buggy or off at times.

Combat is pretty good as well, if you find yourself in a one on one it does come down to skill rather then mashing attack.
Bought Chivalry some days ago, if there are goggers who are able to put up with a completely horrible player in MMO's, let me know :D

Warband is quite awesome, especially the single player. Multiplayer is okay too, though I totally suck in it.

War of the Roses, I have not tried. It looks more mount and blade, though.
