I'd suggest, since you're the OP, that once you get your 5 referals you either remove your referall link or copy someone else in the thread's link into your post so extra referrals don't go to waste.

Also, they seem to have changed the wording slightly when it comes to who will get in depending on ref-links. My guess is that too many people signed up through ref links for it to really work. Now everyone who get 5 signups will just get a far higher chance of getting in.
