Then help me get the "#¤&"/(¤ Mass Effect running on my computer.

I will give one GOG game (no W2, I'm too broke for that) to the person, who can help me :)

You must guide me in this thread, please don't link me to a website or something, since I kinda want you to work in order to get the game. No pain no gain, huh?

Anyway, I'm installing the game right now (from DVD), so get prepared :)

EDIT. Works now, thanks Mr. Hamster :)

Ready and waiting. And mostly willing. And my sympathies :P

Why are you so sure this game will cause any problems? :D

On topic: I do not have ME myself so I'm afraid I will not be able to help.
I once actually managed to get it running. It worked about 2 minutes, stuttering like a old lady in a snowstorm, then crashed.

I bought the damn game twice. First from EA Store (now Origin) and when that didn't work, I foolishly thought a DVD version would be better...

That's what I was wondering myself.

What was the issue with the digital version?I got that to run with no problems if I remember correctly.

Oh, and before someone else mentions this - if there are problems, you'll need to post basic system stats so we can go to work on matching requirements and looking for problems.

Firstly, the launcher did not launch the game. After somehow patching it, the launcher launched. Kinda. It went well for a few minutes, then started stuttering and died.

could you post your system specs?
I claim the prize if it works without assistance. Dibs!

That's also a known problem with a previous patch. Install the 1.02 patch for launcher crashing things. Of doom.
System specs coming up:

Windows 7 Home Premium
AMD Athlon II X4 635
8 gigs of ram
Geforce GTS450

Was there something else needed?

And yeah, installed. Launcher did not launch. It started to "collect system data" and then stopped working.

Good grief. That computer should be able to run Mass Effect while the little people inside the game play Mass Effect on THEIR computers.

And didjer install the patch yet? Coming up: http://masseffect.bioware.com/me1/pc/updates/index.html

Hmmm he said ME, not ME2.
Try running the launcher in administrator mode? (Right click on the launcher exe, choose 'run as administrator')
