Just finished the demo and other then being way to short, it was even easier then sam and max. I did kind of like how they made it seem like you were just watching an episode. Unfortunatly it doesn't appear they got the same voice talent for Wallace which is a shame because whoever they did get sucks. The rest of the characters voices fit the game well though.
It also has a wierd keyboard movement and point and click system, for the most part it worked well enough. Not quite as good as just plain old point and click but alot better then keyboard only controls.
Not sure if I want to play the rest of these or not.

the guy who did wallaces voice is the official understudy for wallace (presumably because peter sallis is in his mid-late 80s & may keel over without warning).
From the video I could spot the difference but thought it was still pretty damn good

It's a pretty good imitation, he's just got a slightly deeper, bassier voice than Sallis. Which is sadly something that can't be avoided. Well, pitch-shifting the voice could work, but I wouldn't expect a miracle.

Yeah, its as close as they can get without having sallis himself. Since the bloke doing it is aardman's choice for a replacement, thats a pretty good substitute
I definitely loved the demo, controls are a bit odd but nothing I can't get used to. They've nailed the feel perfectly. The only real problem I have is the volume control, the music tends to drown out the dialogue when voices are low

Not as good as Sallis, yes, but nonetheless it's a good try
I really like the demo, it's very charming, and I have faith that the rest of the series will be good too. Definitely feels like you're watching a show

Funnily enough, I noticed for the first time tonight just how much my boss talks like Peter Sallis.
What's bizarre is that he also looks like Peter Sellers (actually he looks like Geoffrey Rush playing Peter Sellers).
What are the odds?

Do these games have any DRM on them besides Steam itself???

The steam ones should just have steam. The Telltale ones have a single SecuROM component (I'm pretty sure confined to the game EXE so it's no threat) that enables online activation (which you do once per install with no realistic limit (I think I read it was 255 and they'll reset it if you ask, its just that the program needs a number)

Aliasalpha, does Steam disclose if there is additional DRM on any of their products?

Ahh I'm the wrong person to ask about steam, I've only got 2 games on there. From what I remember, the steam version of spore had securom and there's no mention of it on the game page so I'm guessing they don't.
Personally I'd suggest buying straight from Telltale, they have excellent customer service (Emily FTW!) which is the kind of rarity I like to support

I think tell tale also physically send you a CD/DVD copy of the game if you buy an entire season from them as well as getting the episodes as downloadable content when they are released.

They do, but the company they uses charges $8 for shipping. Ridiculous. But considering the DVD is free I'd say it's worth the $8. They cram the DVD with tons of awesome extras such as commentary, blooper reel and other hilariously good stuff.
