I am gonna be the partypooper and say I refuse to pay $15 for something with graphics like those , along with it being a short game.
I am much more enthusiastic about paying $3 for this on the 360.

There's an interesting interview (or should we say, Intervvvvvview? HAH!) with the game's developer on Gamasutra:
http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/26850/Intervvvvvview_VVVVVV_Developer_Terry_Cavanagh.php
Basically, he quit his banking job earlier than planned to pursue his game developer dream. He was running out of money fast, but then the relative success of VVVVVV made him able to at least manage his loan payments and have some cash left over for christmas.
I just collected a trinket, and it only took me 800 deaths :D
The "doing it the hard way" room is just EVIL. But I did it! Woohoo!
Seriously thinking about getting this game, it's quite hard but really fun and well designed (going by the demo). I'll definately pick it up once I get the money (and after my exams are over).
Thank you for the heads up, seems promising.
Just played the demo and bought it instantly for Steam. I payed 4.49 EUR for it. I'd say that's a good price, but I wouldn't have payed USD 15 for it.
It is currently on sale at Gamersgate for $6.29, you get the PC and Mac versions of the game.
EDIT: Wow! Since adding the above link the price for the game on Gamergate has dropped to $4.49 on sale; $4.99 is the base price now.
I am just unsure if it is DRM free though.
EDIT: I found it for $5.00 here, which "I think" is the publishers direct site. When you choose to pay it says Terry Cavanagh as the person you are sending the money to in the payment form.
A bit confusing though overall.

Does the game include the soundtrack?
I usually buy indie games form the developer's website,if it's possible, even it's sometimes more expensive than on other DD stores. ( paid $ $22.50 for Amnesia )

Just bought it direct for $5.00. It was slightly cheaper on steam $4.49 but I'll gladly pay the extra $0.51 for a completely drm-free version. I too prefer buying direct from the developer even if it's a bit more expensive. Total impulse buy after watching the video on steam. And you get to download both the mac and windows version with a single purchase. Sweet.
edit: Holy crap is this game hard and the controls seem a little overesponsive. I've lost count how many times my little guy runs a little too too far and into a spike. That developer is lucky that despite the fact my my anger level was high while playing that I love classic games like this and am willing to forgive the high difficulty.
edit 2: Any buying the soundtrack PPPPPP? It's $4 at http://souleye.madtracker.net/

Oh fuck yes.
Buy it directly from Terry. Nearly identical price and he deserves the money.

As I said earlier, I concur and did. I also donated the $4 to get the soundrack which is awesome. He probably gets next to nothing through steam. What's $0.51 more anyway?

Man the tower sent my blood pressure through the roof.

The day the game went up on Steam, it was still $15 at Terry's site.
Now that it's $5... Hm...

isn't Steam "steals" 30% off the price ?
