IAmSinistar: It looks like they have. I suspect a lot of their energy is going into bringing their games back as tablet releases. I'd like to see more of them for Android, such as the aforementioned game and
Defender Of The Crown.
But yes, I hope they do finally restore the downloads. Or Hell, even let GOG sell/give them.
Well, at least it's good to know that it was done for restructuring purposes, rather than some business decision. It's always kind of weird when a company distributes a game as freeware for years and then suddenly decides to yank it (such as the case with EA and Ultima IV, before it was made available again on GOG). Not that I really begrudge them for it, since it's their product and they're free to do with it what they want, but it's just kind of... sad, I guess. Especially if the games aren't even made commercially available after that.
The really nice thing about Cinemaware's downloads was that they offered a wide variety of versions for a lot of their titles: Amiga, DOS, C64, NES etc., most of which wouldn't even be available (legally, at least), if they were sold on GOG. I also hope they return one day, even though I still have all those files from their site.
I do wish Cinemaware the best of luck when it comes to their mobile re-releases, since a lot of their games have an incredibly unique and captivating approach to structure and design and it would be really great if a wider audience was introduced to those.
