Looks like Australia has an emerging real life contender for the role of Dr. Raymond Cocteau from the movie Demolition Man!

Sounds fine to me
It doesn't seem to be about vomiting per se but vomiting in the streets due to excessive alcohol consumption. I don't see a problem with that.

And that is how they fool you, because it is also not about 'vomiting in the streets due to excessive alcohol consumption' it is about an extreme level of control by authorities which any person who believes in liberty should be horrified by.

Edit: One day when the streets are filled with fart detectors and pick nose cameras, you will look back to where these type of laws had their beginning and realize the mistake of letting them go.

What is your stance on taking dump on sidewalk?
You can't beat a tactical puke on a heavy session...

Crouching, probably.

If you think taking a dump in public should be forbidden you hate freedom!

one thing is to drink another is to no control yourself in public, your rights ends where the other person rights start, so as long as you drink in your home or with friends nobody cares but if you go to the street and starts to vomit all over then there you are trespassing the rights of the other, there is a different, see?

What a ridiculous interpretation of the news story and the Queensland premier's proposal. There is nothing about the proposal that "makes vomiting illegal" or constitutes anything like "extreme level of control".

Authorities have a legitimate role in creating an environment in which people are not encouraged to do harm to themselves and others. Being intoxicated in public to the point of vomiting is something they have always taken seriously, and it has never been an intrusion on liberty to protect such people from themselves, even to the point of taking them into custody.

But all that is proposed here is a nonbinding code of conduct for taverns and their patrons, with the entirely laudable aim of discouraging public drunkenness, which is a danger to drunks and everyone around them.

Good, in a world where there is waaay too much time for alcohol it's nice to see this kind of thing coming down on those drunken bums.
When reached for comment, Linda Blair had this to say.

Damn midnight lurking. For a while, I thought that the thread's title was actually "Voting made illegal".
I see there are a few people who would like living in Dr. Raymond Cocteau's world, not me!
