If the free game for the 100th release on GOG.com wasn't enough of surprise for you, we're giving you a sneak peek at our new feature - Virtual Game Shelf 2.0
From time to time, Destro is tossing some info about the upcoming "Update 2", but it seems we'll see a cool, new feature before the big update will launch. GOG.com's Design&Development Team is proud to give you the first look at brand new [url=http://www.flickr.com/photos/30112304@N03/3404345660/sizes/o/]Virtual Game Shelf in version 2.0. Now your shelf will get covered in dust and litter with trash, the games you play the most will get your fingerprints on their boxes and if you won't look after your shelf, spiders will spin their webs. Luckily you'll have an anti-dust spray to keep everything fresh and clean and you'll be able to add a personal touch by placing your favourite action figure or a teddy bear from your girlfriend. Check out the screenshot here!

Vagabond: Can I put my porn on it?

Only if it's good and old.
i would love a virtual game shelf client (on my computer), for my GOG games as well as my other games. The game area in vista sucks.
anything like that on the way?

heheh...flapper porn XD.
That looks so cool with the spider and the bear on the shelf cant wait to see more :)
Ha ha - I like the idea too :D
Although, I think it would be more cool to have the shelves in a cabinet with doors and a lock, which we could maybe lock with a different password than for our account - then no one can get to them :D
You guys are awesome. The best April Fools' pranks are the ones that are subtle enough to be believable and believable enough to leave some doubt when revealed as a joke. Bravo!

Well, there's E-Explorer (neowin forum thread, home page), but don't count on it being released for a while. If you just want to add box art to older games that Vista Game Explorer doesn't pick up automagically (to make it a little bit prettier), you can try VGEE (Vista Game Explorer Editor), an earlier project from the same guy creating E-Explorer.
April fools? Aw, come on. Would be sweet to have several themes for the shelves (and the one shown here ain't too bad).

Update 2 is actually coming, but I think he was trying to say that Destro tosses that info around the office, not on the forums. We've only seen mention of it in interviews and I believe on the Twitter page.

Rule 34! It is now inevitable.
If these guys let my virtual shelf become dusty and spider infested then I'll have to do virtual housework. UGH!
At least that 1/2 light reflection on the virtual boxes is gone.
This goes really well with The Witcher: Mysterious Secrets announcement. You guys are hilarious.
