There has just been an Update on Eurogamer about this, apparently Platinum Games (Bayonetta, Vanquish & Anarchy Reigns fame) have shown an interest in the Darksiders franchise :

"Update: Darksiders lead designer Haydn Dalton has commented on what looks like the end for his studio Vigil.

"There was a shimmer on a slither of hope, that at one point, there'd be a Darksiders 3," he tweeted. "Four-player co-op: it rode off into the sunset today."

Or is it the end? Bayonetta, Vanquish and Anarchy Reigns mastermind Platinum Games appears to be interested in the Darksiders licence.

First JP Kellams, talent spotter/translator/writer for Platinum Games, responded to Haydn Dalton's post with this: "@haydndalton hey man. If anyone is interested in working with/at Platinum let me know how to get ahold of you via DM."

Then Atsushi Inaba, head of Platinum Games, tweeted this (translated by Kotaku): "In THQ studio and IP selling off auction, Darksiders is unsold? [We] wanna buy it...on the cheap...""

This sucks :( Not a big fan of their games to be honest, but they're some of the good guys, who actually give a shit about the people who buy their games. Hopefully, they'll make their own gaming studio and make games through Kickstarter, unless some better opportunity presents itself.

Just hope if they do take on Darksiders that there will be a PC version

Would love to see Bayonetta 1 and 2 on PC but that probably won't happen:(

The IP will still be in the hands of someone. Probably still THQ at the moment. So it could be made with a new dev. The franchise isn't lost, just the original devs.
