Zurvan7: yeah but has any of them asked you 30$ for a 1.5-2h demo? At least EA has open beta's and tbh Square E has released one of the best pc optimized games I've played and they do big sales on monthly basis. R* offers you 100h of gameplay and original story. Kojima took the gaming bitch level and DLC to another level lol.

amok: Which demo?
He is referring to Ground Zeroes which has 2 hours of ganeplay basically, the game is just hyping up The Phantom Pain.

Ah, I see.

Well it is not even out on the PC, and I always expected it to be added to Phantom Pain at some point. If people want to buy it before then, I have no problems with it. Would not call it a demo, though, just a rather short game.

amok: Which demo?
He's referring to Ground Zeroes, which mainly serves as a tech demo with some stuff to show what to expect for the official game: The Phantom Pain. Looking at the game (from gameplay videos and streams), it kind of seems like a small stand alone expansion to Peace Walker (since this game and Phantom Pain take place after that).

Yes! Because in their games you can be a male character and have straight sex OR be a female character and lez off so everyone's catered for!

(j/k - ref mainly to ME1, I hear things got wilder and more diverse as the series progressed...)

It fulfill all criteria:

1- You can play as which sex you want (Male / Female)*
2- You can play as whatever sexual orientation you want (Straight / Gay)*

(*You may not be able to play to above mentioned settings in the combination you would like to.)

I suppose Crosmando will stop making dumb threads all the time when game companies and gaming news sites stop making dumb speeches and dumb articles all the time.

I remember in another thread, it was suggested that violent video games makes men more likely to want to rape, even though you're usually shooting other male cannon fodder. What about females that play violent video games? These accusations are hardly ever neutral. Why is it always about misogyny but not about any misandry?

Anyway, I'm not a fan of radical feminists that act like conservatives wanting to censor everything they don't like. I do however believe there is a need for more sex-positive feminism. They don't believe in suppressing and vilifying male sexuality. Instead of doing that, just make more sexual opportunities for all variety of people. I don't have a problem with a game company making a game with gay characters or unattractive women and men. I have a big problem with them saying that everyone has to like it and also that everyone else shouldn't play other games that do appeal to them.

edit: and if you take everything out of a game that might appeal to some players, it doesn't matter much if they can choose to be male/female or gay/straight.

I die a little when i see such articles.
I like how The Cat Lady features a female protagonist who's plain-looking and depressive – the complete opposite of the pretty manic pixie dream girls we usually get in games.

Depressive or depressed?
Or both?

I quite like The Cat Lady. I also quite like modding the new Fallout and Elder Scrolls games with new body models for some harmless fun, usually with big, bouncing tits. I quite like a lot of things.

*Gasp* How dare you! No fun allowed in video games, you sexist! /sarcasm
Bioware is a shit studio that hasn't made anything I care about in years . So whatever crap they do is irrelevant to me .
That being said, I have started playing Conquistador, and the parity aspect bothers me : it's trying to be all cool and politically correct by making half of the characters (conquistadores and such) female, and it really shatters the setting, in my eyes.

And this is coming from someone who totally supports the feminist critiques of videogames in general.
Seriously, scantily clad big breasted girls in their prime as major characters in video games are doing a disservice to the industry. Even movies nowadays avoid portraying women like that, unless they're teen parodies. Would Half-Life 2 be a worse game if you were accompanied by Dr Kleiner instead of Alyx, who's handy with a wrench, but still not too tomboyish? Does Lara Croft really need breasts that big? I mean, how does she even perform so many acrobatic feats with them... Now, I'm not saying I don't like pretty women, but do we really need them in every game and risk those same games looking like exploitation films? Because they only contribute to the old perception of video games that people have, that games are only for unsocial nerds who live out their sexual fantasies through them.
