jamotide: Really? People pm you asking for censorship? Wow...
No, they PM me about closing a thread(usually theirs), removing their posts, or that someone is harassing them(whether real or imagined, not for me to say). FYI, I do not mind that people PM me but as I said, I'd rather minimize people getting hurt and flame wars tend to do that. Let me know if I need to clarify anything I've said :)

Found a far more appropriate video:

It's Misogyny - /v/ the musical

Lionel212008: You fail to realize that video games are not 'real' but an escape. Not everything has to be politically correct you pompous, self-righteous, sanctimonious prick and I think we can handle video games just fine and I like 'em just the way they are..

Everything does not have to ascribe to this nonsensical social dogma. I'd like to see my women buxom and in skin tight latex....so what's wrong with that?

The perversion you see only exists in your mind and no where else. It is there that you must draw boundaries.

Next month, I intend to get a ps3 and very much intend to play Deadpool on it. It's crass, juvenile, misogynistic and politically incorrect and I am certain that I am going to enjoy every moment of it.

Elmofongo: But why does it have to be in game, I would just rather see fanart of video game girl all buxom like on the internet. Like this guy's rendition of Princess Peach:

http://sigurdhosenfeld.deviantart.com/art/Peach-On-the-Beach-121146261
Again people miss the subtle difference between a character being dressed a certain way and their whole reason to exist being to stand around being dressed a certain way and pander to and cheer on the male lead
I would go as far as saying that notorious zeppelin smuggler and shoe-string bikini wearer, Ivy from the Soul Calibre games is a stronger female character than either Princess Peach or Zelda (as we first meet them in the old 8-bit games, I realise that they've both been fleshed out a lot, over the years since then)
Because (Cervantes' daughter based daddy issues aside) at least she's her own woman and kicks arse and doesn't need no man to tell her what's what, yo!
Rather than being the archetypal damsel in distress, like a trophy or award to be won for a job well done, more a plot device or prop than a person!
Yes!

i just unlocked a sexy police costume with a cleavage and mini skirt for on of the characters in resident evil 6 and have no regrets. It was hard to unlock too.
Ah, Crosmando's masculinity is threatened once again.

I understand , it's constant struggle with world to preserve it.

Just until it's the year 2050, when the feminists rule the world and men are kept as docile pets, injected with Estrogen and any masculine behavior is punishable by the Tolerance Police with instant public castration.

From the ashes of a dark world, ONE MAN will rise to challenge the ruling matriarchy and restore the rightful place of manliness.

Crosmando: TRIGGER WARNING: Following post contains extreme misogyny, sexism, racism, homophobia, transphobia, fat-shaming, slut-shaming and assorted LGBTWTFBBQ bigotry.

Hello.

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2014-03-21-misogyny-racism-and-homophobia-where-do-video-games-stand

I hope you guys realize that you're entire hobby is now misogyny, every time you play a game where a female is displayed sexually is the literal rape of thousands of innocent pixels. Every second of every minute of every day of your lives that you continue to play video games is now a terrible act of misogyny.

Have a nice day.
Sounds like Harvester in a nutshell. But that was kind of the point of the game since it was a send up of 'murder simulator' video games years before Jack Thompson gained steam.

AlexY: the immense quantitties of oppression set upon underpriviliged (all, really) females.
Titties of oppression? Sounds... uhm... promising!?

And that man is you 50 years later ;)
Y'know, these people are always calling for more diverse kinds of characters, but they always want them grounded in reality. Nobody is campaigning for more games with playable orcs, lizardmen, kobolds, or freakish aliens. I guarantee you they wouldn't play a game starring an alien and his struggles trying to live with humans because "Ew, he's so ugly! I can't relate to THAT!".

They just seem to want to insert themselves into games and live out their fantasies of perfect, boring, realistic worlds.

tinyE: THANK YOU!

Everyone uprep this post.
This is not a very good line of reasoning because it gives a free pass to all sorts of propaganda in fiction. With the excuse of "ah bah it's just escapism for fun".

The fact that it's "real" or "for escapism" is not the point. "Escapism" still can have ideological content, enforce worldviews, glorify specific values, etc, whether it's a game, a movie, a book, a discourse, a fairy tale, etc. A large part of how we see the world comes from how it is decribed in entertainment. It's worth being questionned.

And yes, next time this specific dismissal argument is raised, I'll attack with exemples that godwin would disapprove of.

So, you're saying that you want all the characters to be unlike you? Then diversifying the characters is a win-win situation (assuming you're a white guy) :)

Actually my mate Marcus almost always goes Orc in both table-top and computer based RPGs - he'd go for it I'm sure!
