Just a quick question. Do you keep track of the games in your collection? Do you use any applications for that, or just post your collection on some site (like IGN, raptr, vgrebirth, gamespot, etc.)?
I'm looking for a site that would have a good database of games (PC and console, preferably US+PAL region at least), and nice collection management functionality (not just "Owned" + "Wishlist", but also "Previously Owned", "Beaten")

The only one I know of is collectorz.com's.
They also have a demo, so you can see if it fits your needs.
I'm quite sure that over the years someone will have created a freeware or open source version.

I use www.theigdb.com as they have a facebook app as well which is quite nice.

GCStar, recommended to me by someone here. Free and it can track much more than just a video game collection. I use it for my games and DVDs.

I'll second GCStar, found out about it from someone on this forum also. I will add you do need to put a bit of work into it to add everything but it should allow you to keep track of everything you need.

Thanks guys - you reminded me that I did set up an account on backloggery way back, I even remembered the password :-)
Anyway, one thing that backloggery is lacking for me is the game database. I need to enter each game's name in plaintext, rather than just search for the proper name. I suppose I will give gcstar a shot though, and I also registered on IGDB to see what it's worth. I will have a look at Collectorz too (though I'm afraid it might be US-centric, with no PAL-only games).
I'm hoping for something like boardgamegeek.com for board games (and they are working on a videogamegeek equivalent, but the release date is yet unknown).

I've got my raptr page, and I use Data Crow on my system. You have to enter the basics manually, but generally most of the profile info can be found online for games.

Data Crow is nice but a little slow. I use AVCataloger. While it is geared more towards books it is customizable enough for video games and almost everything else. Unfortunately, not free and locked to a single system.

I use [url]http://www.mobygames.com/[/url], it's not a GOG affiliate for nothing, you can enter the purchase date, price and condition as well if you're into that sort of thing.
For the rare case of a game not being in their database, submit it and you'll get an assortment of points (that don't actually do anything) and a smile on your face for contributing.
