*monocle*

Sir, at least have the common courtesy to extend my nominal title of Duke of Mathematical Slipshod! It's a small, but unproductive duchy. We are a sinful lot, but make up for it with mounds of excess!

If you lived in America you would understand that an administration that has been in office for four years and has failed to achieve even basic expectations is the reason why the debate cannot be won. The debate was focused around foreign policy and domestic fiscal positions. Our President has been covering up a terrorist attack for weeks now and our economy has been horrible in what should have been a very routine recovery (which we enounter in standard economic cycles again and again and again and again).

People will have their views and I get that but you're not going to win a majority of voters after four years of failure by giving a nice pep talk.

Failure to get anything done cannot be solely laid at the feet of the President. An opposition whose only goal was to see that he did not get a second term contributed greatly to the stall of pretty much everything. An opposition whose notion of "compromise" is something the other guys do. It is also the fault of the President's party for not calling the opposition's bluff. There is plenty of failure to go around, but blaming the failure solely on his own actions is disingenuous at best.

By the way, nobody ever claimed my free GoG game gift. I'm out for the night but I'll check back to see who catches this first. Anything under $10!

Wait a minute, Ryan has been at the "helm" of one of the more dysfunctional Houses in decades, wtf dude? Obama deserves a fuckton of blame, but I it sounds like you're solely blaming him when the (R)s in congress have acted like utter fucking jackasses for 3 years now and are very much complicit in the state of our economy.

I hate to ruin your little fiction but that opposition was vote into congress BY DESIGN by me and people like me. It had nothing to do with an election - people don't want what he has to offer. What you consider opposition I consider representation of the citizens of our country. Also, the president deserves way more blame than you give him credit for. He made no effort to work with anyone in congress. His legislative track record speaks for itself.

Good night and enjoy the discussion!

Sorry. If I lived in America? You assume you know more about American politics because I live in another country? Your post above shows you know far less about American politics (and world events) than I.

Secondly, it doesn't matter what country you live in, the criteria you use to determine the winner of a debate is plainly incorrect. It is simply absurd to suggest that one cannot win a debate no matter what that person says.

Finally, it's also clear that, notwithstanding that you are not from Germany, either your English is poor, or your reading comprehension needs work.

Read my comment above. The House was perfectly functional. We voted people in there to represent Americans who do not want what Obama wasn't to implement in this country.

Keevek - name your game sir. I'll gift it to you when I get back on at some point this week.

You've got to reply to his other post. I wouldn't take a free game from this guy ever.
So I lost, boo ;-(

By the way, why it's a common practice in American debates from both parties to use almost only "anegdotical argument" in debates?

The argument "I met a man once, and he told me this and that" is no argument at all...

Nice details in your post. I call tell you're a political wonk and obviously very well informed!

Oh no, you won. I offered it to the first person I asked. I attempted to make a wager with someone who feels very emotional about their beliefs but like many posters here doesn't want to muddle them with real life facts.

I will gift you any game you want $10 or less. I seriously have to get to bed now though. Peace all.
