Just logged into my Origin client for some Mass Effect 2 and saw this... is GOG now on Origin like Steam games used to be sold through Impulse???

They're old, they're games, and they're good. What's the confusion?
EA has noticed that there is a decent market for old classics and has jumped in to make a cash grab. I always knew this would happen , with gog's popularity growing each day , these are the consequences everyone else doing it now too.
Well, they're all EA games, so it seems reasonable for EA to sell them on their own store...

EA was just surprised as to the amount of people interested in buying good old games again.

It's sad that they didn't support it from the start. I think that was a bad business move on their part.
Why on earth would you have an Origin account?

To play some genuinely fun games perhaps? =P

EA may be evil... but they do release some decent games from time to time.

I considered making one to buy the old Command & Conquer games, but then just decided I'd wait till they come on GOG.
GOG's compatibility work has shown up elsewhere before, I'm sure this is the same thing. It's actually nicer of Origin to indicate the games come from here, in my opinion, than to just list them and not reference the work GOG did.
They're even using GOG's old icons for some games. Check it:

On the left is GOG's icon they used for Ultima Underworld 1+2's old (1.x) installer - the "shine" Photoshop overlay effect is a dead giveaway and it's on all their old icons.
Notice that Ultima 4 isn't free on Origin.

I'm not sure that can classify as a full reference. I mean, people with knowledge of GOG can make the connection, but those without will only assume EA is turning to the good side. A full statement that the version they are selling has been optimized by GOG would've been better.

They're stolen! O_O I saw EA's OP team breaking and entering in the GOG safe.
