What would this mean for dev's trying to get their games out on Steam?.
avatar
Elmofongo: NOOOOO

Please let this game release before they shut down Greenlight:

I didn't realize that was on greenlight. An RE clone with co-op? Upvoted.

Niggles: Question. People keep saying devs dont pay for generating Steamkeys, does Steam live off % of each sale off those sales?
avatar
amok: as we saw from the Wrack sales, as soon as it got on steam, all other sales dried up (even though the other DD sites also provided Steam keys). So for Valve it is an incentive to get as many games and gamers to make use of Steam, because they are then more likely to buy games there again. The more people use steam, the more likely it is that people will buy there also

Lessons for gog, maybe?
So are you saying GOG should let indie's who sign up go hell for leather jumping into every indie bundle with gogkeys?.
.biz domain.
The Onion is more reliable.

sure, why not. more pr for gog. more customers.
Just a marketing strategy to promote their new OS. I bet they will get rid of Greenlight to introduce some kind of way to develop more games with the Steam OS... Clever people at Valve

Silent Hill was better!
It does not have only zombies, they include mutant abominations aswell.

Remember the Hunter, Licker, and Tyrants from RE? They are going to add their own kind of mutants.

Also Silent Hill 1,2,and 3 has no limited inventory and its normal enemies barely put up a fight since you get ammo constantly even on Normal difficulty and Melee weapons are overpowered since they don't break.

F4LL0UT: I've heard that Gabe Newell uses dollar bills as toilet paper and has built a huge house out of coins.
I've tried dollarbill toiletpaper, though I prefer normal recycled toiletpaper, it adjusts its shape better and because of its texture you need a lot less of it and it doesn't clog up the toilet.

Clearly you never played Resident Evil 1 Remake for the Gamecube/Wii which is arguably the best and scariest game in the series its to Resident Evil as what Silent Hill 2 is to Silent Hill. Listen to the Soundtrack of REmake:

In my opinion the steambox is more of a label than a design or concept, greenlight is more a consummer inquiry than an initiative to help developpers. I wouldn't keep my hopes up for the SteamOS (even though I think it would be very good if they could create some kind of consensus around any 'open' OS).

2 things to stop that:

Lighter and Oil Cannister.

And I beat that game in Real Survival Mode as Chris Redfield
It isn't surprising really, that Valve wants Greenlight out of the picture if you look at the game statistics. Out of 421 approved games only 177 has been published. Some of those unpublished games are Kickstarter projects which didn't manage to raise the cash needed to actually develope the game or otherwise smaller devs that have ran out of money to finish the game in any time soon. It's almost like a vaporware list.
