I'm hoping this is the announcement of Portal 2, with an in-game link between the Portal 2 and EP3 stories.

Maybe there will not be a Portal 2 game.They will just release another update ( multiplayer mode) .

Portal 2 and HL Episode 3 in one package for the holiday seems a no-brainer, but personally I wonder if they will combine them even more, as in make them parts of the same game.
It would make sense.

I remember hearing Newell asking the public to email him about which we would rather see first a while ago (when L4D2 was getting demoed). It was either Portal 2 or Counter Strike 2. I'm confident people were itching for more Portal 2 than anything.
Besides, CS:Source and CZ are perfectly fine still. It'd be hard to come into the war FPS market with Modern Warfare 2 and Bad Company 2 on the rise.
Seeing as how Portal 1 took off as such a hit, I would imagine this will be released completely separately. I don't want that though.
I WANT HL3 WITH THIS.

It maybe make sense as a story, but I don't want it as one product only.
EDIT: they can add a portal gun to EP3, I'm fine with this and I'm already expecting it inside the Borealis and all. But I think that it is better as two separate products.

HL2:EP3 is going to continue the portal timeline, however there will be another Portal game, more likely a prequel than a sequel.
