DubConqueror: I just goggified Wargame:European Escalation and ArmA II: Combined Operations. It's a pity these games didn't have such a good discount earlier, I did fall for the sales of Wargame earlier on Gamersgate and ArmA II on Bohemia Interactive, even though those versions were burdened with Steam. Now I've left the burden.

My Steam library becomes ever more insignificant, with more and more games I managed to buy without DRM. If only the same games were earlier in discount, I'd had made a better vote with my wallet by not buying the DRM-ed ones at all. Lack of willpower on my part, I can't think it can be based on stupidity, as I fall for the trap of DRM-ed sales knowing how bad DRM is. It's why I only buy discounted games on Steam: if feels like paying rent for temporary use of the games, instead of buying to own it.
Don’t be too hard on yourself for getting games on Steam, or elsewhere with DRM infestation, if you just feel the need to play them. There are some games we just can’t, or won’t wait for. That said, any games I have on Steam I will buy again if they get released on GoG.

I managed to pick up Wargame Euro-Escalation, for which I just found interest in, at right price, and ArmA II combined, for which I waited for the right price, even though I have a physical copy, it’s nice to have the DRM free… GoGified version of.

Plus I picked up Capsized, for good measure, as it seems so very odd, in all the right ways. :D
OK, I've done some research about a few games that I considered buying and here are the results:
- Fist Puncher - not now, not ever. And if the hell freezes... well, not even then.
- Speedball 2 HD - definitely not! It's just mind blowing that a HD remake looks so much worse than the original. WTF?
- The Chaos Engine - I played the original with my friend on Amiga and I think that was a better experience than this port is ever going to to be so no, thanks.
- Megabyte Punch - I can see why many people like this game but somehow I don't see myself really enjoying it, I'll pass.

So I think I'll just grab Capsized and PixelJunk Shooter, games I wanted to get from the very beginning of the sale. After that I will own 15 games from this promo - not half bad!

Very nice. Have 14 here after grabbing Sacred, Nox, Guacamelee, Ring Runner and Hammerwatch this morning. Also, played Chaos Engine on the SNES and wasn't exactly impressed by it way back when. Way more bitchy and cynical now, so it'd be a pretty bad purchase.

Yes, maybe I shouldn't (be so hard on myself). I'm echoing the voices of some outspoken DRM-opponents, but they are a bit too harsh on others (and I internalized such voicings).
Ok, I've bought a bunch of the promo games, but I still have doubts about these three:
should I get the original Operation Flashpoint games (Arma CWA), Arma1 or Arma2? Which is the best?
Best. Sale. Ever. I just got thirteen new games, nine of which can be crossed off of my wishlist. Dungeon Keeper 2 is in my top 3 favorite games of all time, and I've been waiting for this sucker to go on sale for a while now. For $1.49 it's a crime. There's no way I'm getting such an awesometacular game for so cheap. GOG, you are awesome. :)
Wow, definitely feeling the GOG love in this sale! :-) Picked up Nox, Spellforce 2: Shadow Wars, Dungeon Keeper 2, System Shock 2, Omerta and Pixeljunk Monsters for an amazing price. Thank you GOG!

Ghorpm: I've just finished the first act of Omerta and I would say that for 8$ it is a decent deal too. Contrary to the popular opinion It's definitely not a bad game per se. It's just terribly overpriced. But for 8 bucks it's really good deal. The gameplay is not great but tactical battles are good enough to keep you entertained. Strategic gameplay is much weaker, repetitive and not really challenging but it's still not that bad. I would say it's definitely worth spending 8 bucks on it.
Thanks for this info! I came looking to this topic for more info on this game, and this and your other posts was what I wanted to hear. Been on the wall on this game for a while now, but you sold me on it. :-) That, plus the fact I kept reading in some of the reviews that this one is a bit like Tropico with Gangsters? Seems like it was meant as a negative quality, but for me that's actually another reason to get this one, looooove Tropico 3. So while we're on it, can we have Tropico 4 on here? Pretty please Gog? :-)

Ghorpm: If you have any question feel free to ask (I haven't finished the game yet but I think I know enough about it now)
Do you have the DLC, The Japanese Incentive, too? If so, is it worth the price of admission? =P

While Operation Flashpoint 1 (CWA) is still somewhat actively being played in multiplayer, I would suggest you do not buy it for MP, because ARMA: CWA is OFP in version 1.99, while 99 % of the servers you will find online require you to have version 1.96. CWA sadly doesn´t run on these servers.
But still, the single-player experience (especially resistance campaign), as well as the sp mods and missions that are online for download are worth to look at. Good singleplayer mission for ofp/cwa is Abandoned Armies....it is crazy in scope and quality.

If you are looking to play mainly in multiplayer, I would suggest you go with ArmA 2.
AND get OFP1 somewhere els in the GOTY edition.
Argh, I couldnt resist: System Shock 2, Nox, Magic Carpet Plus, Spellforce 2, Sacred Gold and Trine are now mine. For 10$! GOG is awesome.

Well... I have it but I want to finish the original campaign first. Frankly, I don't believe it's worth 10$. I mean it's a bit weird to pay more for DLC than the base game, isn't it? ;) As I said before - the only major flaw of the game is that it's terribly, terribly overpriced, why should DLC be any different? I mean 3 out of 4 previous DLCs were initially sold for 5$ (1 was free) and since I've already completed additional missions they provide I can say that it was a total rip-off! It's good they are free now.

You are welcome. It's a shame that the base price is so ridiculously high. If it had been 10$, heck, even 15$ I believe it would have been 4 or 4.5 star game. Not awesome but solid enough to be enjoyed.

True, I think I'll just wait for a better priced sale on the DLC. Thanks, mate! =D

Humm, so you mean that: GOG partial release has an higher version (1.99) than the GOTY full old one (1.96)? O_o
I'm mostly interested in SP, but I'd like to be able to play MP too!
I'll think about it, thanks for the info.

EDIT: it seems that a version downgrade mod has been made for MP, has anyone tried it?

This time (luckily) I didn't want them all, but I also didn't get all that I wanted, it would have costed too much. I restricted myself to:

Trine (I was taking a look at it yesterday, thinking "wow, looks cool", so I jumped on it XD).
Nox
Hammerwatch
Capsized

...and now I noticed I bought Dungeon Keeper 2 instead of System Shock 2. Whoops. Well, I'll play that one, instead (I guess there's no way I can legitly give it away, now that I added it to my account, right?).
