spindown: Plus, the preorder is actually more expensive than the starting price. Makes no sense whatsoever.

SirPrimalform: Not any more, the starting price is the pre-order price. It's only going to get more expensive.
I saw this as well and thought, gee they starting to get a big greedy?. Whatever happened to the pay what you want concept with these bundles?.
The fact that they boosted the starting price to the preorder makes me lean towards preordering. If two of them are indeed Zeno Clash and Hoard then that's decent enough to satisfy throwing $4 at it. Plus I really don't feel like hovering over my computer around launch time to lock in the same price.

It was getting abused big time by many people. I really don't have an issue with them fixing minimum prices especially when it is still an insanely good deal. I do understand why people would have an issue with buying something that you aren't 100% sure on what it is, though.

JMich: (haven't played The Greek Encounter yet though)
You don't want to play the Greek encounter, it was horrendous. It reminded me of the games I used to make when I was 13, only worse.

I pre-order the indie royale bundles because of two reasons:
1: I want to support indie developers, and the indie royale team has been good thus far at picking out indie developers that are good at what they do (for the most part, see the Greek encounter)
2: My memory acts in interesting ways, I can remember conversations I had when i was 4, and forget important things now. Pre-ordering prevents poor memory from being an issue.

For the whole extra 60 cents I'll wait and see what's in it first:)

Me too. :P I just meant it's marginally less pointless than it was before.
I've actually just talked myself out of a preorder, too. Zeno Clash is apparently three hours long, the Hoard demo didn't really impress me and multi player is dead, and Lume seems to be part 1 of a who-knows-if-will-be-finished project. The two 'retro defense' games... well... those could be anything. Much rather throw more money at that other upcoming bundle.

Steam tells me I spent 10 hours with Zeno Clash. I suppose a lot of it really does depend on how good you are though; some parts can get pretty difficult. Personally, I really loved Zeno Clash; it's definitely one of the most unique game experiences I've had. I'd recommend it if you're into playing something really crazy.
So far, Gemini Rue was the only thing Indie Royale has done right. Although Cthulu Saves the World and Breath of Death were pretty cool, theyre only 3 bucks! I payed 4 for the stupid bundle and I only played those.
TBH i'm only buying indie bundles if they are Steam-redeemable. i want a reliable download service for those games, and like the HIB website itself says, there's no telling how long they can keep your games available for you to download.

as for this bundle, if some of your guesses turn out to be true, i won't be interested since i already have many of those games.

TBH the only indie bundle i've bought so far was the HIB 4, which was truly amazing, especially if you paid above the average and got the HIB 3 games as well. the other bundles really didn't do much for me since i occasionally pick up indies on Steam.

Austrobogulator: Steam tells me I spent 10 hours with Zeno Clash.
Mine shows 3.4 hours, and I wasn't very good at it (I haven't learned how to block properly throughout the entire game). That being said, I think in this case it's actually a good thing it's so short. Otherwise, they would be running a huge risk of overstaying their welcome; the gameplay isn't really that varied. And the game definitely is worth it for the fantastic visual style alone; whoever says games lack original ideas these days ought to play Zeno Clash and shut up.
XP Ive pre-ordered. Ive enjoyed a fair few games from the previous releases (Breath of Death, CSTW, Super Crossfire, Fractal, Really Big Sky, Runespell, Blackwell Trilogy Eets and the Oil Blue and the two Serious Sam main games). Only bought them since 'The Really Big One'. Looking forward to this :)
I'm not preordering. The Indie Royale bundles have always been very hit and miss, and my gut feeling tells me that a lot of them are going to be games that I already have from daily deals. If half the pack is Steam-only with no DRM-free versions, it's probably not going to be worth it for me.

If you liked Gemini Rue, I have no clue why you wouldn't like the Blackwell trilogy.

Edit: On another note, I should really get myself a Desura account, if only so I could register all those bundles I've been buying in case something happens to Steam.
