Blackwell was released on Steam the same day the bundle was out as well. I'm merely saying it's a possibility. Cortex Command is not yet fully developed, and Splot is not otu yet either, but both have been part of the Humble Bundle.

The Blackwell trilogy could be activated on Steam with the Indie Royale codes since December 12, 2011, but the games didn't go on sale until January 13, 2012.

There's also Scoregasm, which still hasn't been released for sale on Steam, but you can get it if you have a download key from one of these bundles.

Gemini Rue was in an Indie Royale, and we got a Steam code - but it was also released for sale on that same day (or was it one or two days later?) on Steam.

I think he means Really Big Sky and Scoregasm. IIRC both were advertised as being available on Steam but only if you bought it from the bundle. Odd enough, after all these months you still can't buy them from Steam.

Comparing Blackwell's popularity / number of purchases with Limbo and Bastion. Sirs, you won't stop making my day...

The point was, the games were sold and got a bit of word of mouth publicity. People who might not have been interested in them might be after hearing from friends that they were in these bundles.

These bundles sell... what, 50 to 100000 copies. There's still hundreds of thousands of Steam players who might look into the games, ya know? (Since Steam has over a million users, and so on.)

Yeah, let's compare PC-only games to stuff that was released on console, therefore inflating the amount of games sold.

I think the "fantastical 1st person action-adventure" might be The Ball (although it will be on Be Mine bundle as well). Although the word fantastical clashes a bit. Well, if it is The Ball, the bundle gets my recommendation. It's a fun game, plus not too long or not too short. Were it longer that it is, it'd get old by the end.

edit: and maybe the puzzle one is QUBE? -nevermind- looks like it wasn't even in the competition. Would be surprised if it's anything other than Lume.

Fair enough. And you're probably right, it's likely not part of the bundle, but the possibility is there, considering the release date is the exact same as the bundle, but that might just be coincidence or maybe the Dear Esther developers wanted their game out on Valentine's Day too (Considering the original mod had it's final release 15th of feb 2009). And if they included the game into the bundle, it could serve as a kickstarting of sale figures, but as said, it is likely not a part of the bundle.

Possibly not interested - but will wait to see what the games are. Like others 2 Steam only games included???. Geeez.

If the new games look good, I may get it for them and Zeno Clash, but I'm not sure Zeno Clash is worth it alone - too short. Lume may be a good adventure, but I'm not really in the mood for them. Hoard doesn't interest me at all.

Of course, we may be wrong.

Yeah, I really don't understand why people preorder the Indie Royale bundle blind. There's a good chance the bundle will either contain something you already have or nothing that you're interested in. Plus, the preorder is actually more expensive than the starting price. Makes no sense whatsoever. If you want to support the indie developers, you can still do that when the bundle is released and you know who they are.

Especially considering these bundles. At worst if you check it a few hours after launch it's going to be what... 50p more expensive? I would rather not preorder and pay a tiny bit more if i see it's a good bundle than to preorder it and find out i'm not intrested in most of the games.

Not any more, the starting price is the pre-order price. It's only going to get more expensive.

For me, the reasons are simple.
1) I probably will not have the games, since I rarely buy non-gog games, especially indie ones, and even if I do have them, indieroyale and indiegala will either give me a drm-free installer (if I'm lucky) or a steam-key I can gift to someone else who may want to play the game.
2) I have a mild case of OCD, and I want to have the complete edition of any bundle, and by pre-ordering I get a music album that I probably won't listen to as well as the games, instead of getting only the games. While as I mentioned I'll probably not listen to the album, it just nags me that I could have bought it for the same (or less) but I didn't.
3) I do enjoy having a variety of games, so I can pick and play whatever I feel like at that moment, and so far I haven't been dissapointed by any of the bundle games I've played (haven't played The Greek Encounter yet though)
