Dungeon Keeper 2, now with fully supported hardware acceleration.

At GOG.com we try to treat our games like our children--with care, tolerance, love and understanding. If they’re not ready and prepared, we don’t release them. When we see they’re doing great on modern systems, we pack them with some extra goodies to keep them warm and safe, and send them out to the homes of the best people we could ever find--you, gamers, GOGers!

And we never forget about our games, oh no! Every once in a while, one of our testers checks how our releases are doing and then we can contact you and say: “It’s a dangerous world out there. This patch, update, soundtrack, and artbook might help you.”

Today, we’re extremely happy to tell you that within minutes you will be able to play the best, the fastest, and the most reliable version of Dungeon Keeper 2 out there, all thanks to a small patch, named 'Hardware acceleration fix', that can be downloaded from your ‘My Account’ section. Play Dungeon Keeper with hardware acceleration and 1024x768 resolution (fully supported on ATI and NVIDIA cards) as it’s supposed to be played--slick, smooth, and super-cool.

In addition to that, we’ve added some great extras to The Witcher and The Witcher 2:
- new print-ready HD version of the TW2EE artbook--that’s 332 MB of the pure awesomeness
- seven “Behind the Scenes” videos for The Witcher
- 14 video interviews with the creators of The Witcher
- metal music video advertising The Witcher

Download the Dungeon Keeper 2 patch and awesome extras for the Witcher games from your ‘My Account’ page. We also recommend using our GOG.com Downloader.
Big big thanks for the patch, but I have some graphics issues with it. As I change the resolution it remains at some downscaled pixelated junk, it's even worse than the originak dk2.exe at software mode. Has someone the same problem? Is there any fix for that?

There is a link to a picture that shows how it looks:

Thanks for the answer.

Heh, you should get Timeslip working on the second most complained-about game (if you'll pardon my phrasing). ;) I was going to say Interstate '76, but looks like the integration of nGlide (yes, I'm referencing it again) would maybe increase compatibility: http://www.zeus-software.com/downloads/nglide/compatibility
yes

drterror666: When I used to play DK2, I had a patch that introduced these women spider things. Are they in this version of DK2?

Thanks GOG, works great and looks good now. I appreciate you making one of my favorite games of all time work right.
The DK2 Patch works great on Windows 7 64bit on iMac.
THANK you

Thank you! That is good to know. I'll try it in XP using Parallels first but if that fails, Win7 via bootcamp is my fallback plan when it comes to Windows games.
Who else noticed that the image used to represent Dungeon Keeper 2 in this post is a combination of the cover for DK1 and the land you play in, in DK1?

I noticed that it's the original Horny (who IMHO looked much more awesome by the way) but I didn't pay so much attention to notice that it's DK1's level select screen serving as a background. Now I'm wondering how we can benefit from this knowledge. Maybe we should try blackmailing GOG now.

Perhaps one might use the information as an excuse to ask how the addition of Deeper Dungeons is coming along... Or perhaps some more extras. I noticed that there's only a single file in the avatar zip, and none in DK2's.
can't find it, there is nothing on My Account :(

forget, was wrong....

So when you go to your account and click on the game there is no patch file? Or what exactly is missing?

No, this site does not provide patches for everyone, it is only for gog customers.

The stuff that was modified about the Witcher was just extra content (like videos about the behind the scenes making the witcher) - nothing about the game itself has changed as of the above post. However you can go to thewitcher.com to download in any game patches (http://thewitcher.com/support/w1/#q14) you might have missed (though I don't think the game has had a patch in years so you've probably got the latest version).

If you bought The Witcher 2 from elsewhere you can redeem a code and get it on GOG too.
