Blarg: I love racing games, but find that they are so infinitely better with a steering wheel that I don't want to play them without one, and I don't have one, and (sucking in a breath here) so there's no such thing as a casual racing game to me because you need to buy a decent wheel first -- and most stores don't even carry PC wheels anymore!
they say the xbox racing wheel should connect to your pc.

Guess I have no reason not to buy Unreal 1 then. I keep hearing people say Unreal 2 sucked, but I don't see it. For it's day, it was quite good. Had some decent enemies, very varied locales and slightly interesting characters.
The weapons were many and varied, and quite interesting to be honest. The storyline wasn't bad at all. The weaknesses were the slowed down gameplay, and the unskippable "introduction" sequences on each level if you had to reload it for some reason. But compared to the rest of the game, it's not too much to complain about.
I just hope the Gog version of Unreal doesn't crash as often as Unreal 2.

Weclock: I've thought of both it and screamer, but ultimately I hate racing games. the only one I can stand is burnout paradise, but that's mostly because at any moment you can screw up your car, for fun.

I think you can do that in flatout too ;-)
Infact it resembles Burnout in a lot of ways.. emphasis on crashing, special crash modes, etc..
Its weird that the most well known guy on the forums, with the most stars, doesn't actually like the place...

I like the place, I am just burned out on the games offered.
