What is more beautiful than playing on-line deathmatch in Unreal Tournament 2004? Playing it with or against other GOG.com users or even GOG.com staff!
That's why we have set up two servers for [url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/unreal_tournament_2004_ece]Unreal Tournament 2004 multiplayer. One server is placed in the USA - name: UT2004 Server US sponsored by GOG.COM, IP: 68.232.163.189:7777, and the other one is in Europe - name: UT2004 Server EU sponsored by GOG.COM, IP: 95.211.15.232:7777. We'll be checking in from time to time, so don't be surprised if you get blasted by Firek or Paczyk ;). And we're also adding some cool new wallpapers for UT 2004 and UT GOTY, so if you were planning to change your desktop wallpaper here's your chance.
Extra-cool!
Although I'm not an Unreal-player myself, it's a very neat idea to have your own MP servers for this classic. Also, your active partecipation in there is sure to please players :-).
Promise I don't have to download third-party maps and mods?

You don't - not yet, anyway. :P

Man, those mods are gigantic. I just want to jump in and play. Maybe a mod-friendly server where people can go nuts is in order.

Yep, what the Dr said :)
I can't wait for the day when GOG has its own Die by the Sword server.
now this is great.
is it long term?
maybe a possibility is to implement the server in the thread so we can see how many players are online. so you can jump in when people are playin
very cool,
I have a non GOG version of UT2K4 (well, two copies, so I can't justify it again just yet ;p), but I did start playing it again this arvo'. Still, I'll try and get online and show how bad I am at these games in MP mode :)

This is pretty cool.
Wallpapers? Please say you add the big version of this one: http://wallpapers.free-review.net/wallpapers/18/unreal_tournament.jpg
IT was available at the official UT-site once, and unlike the versions floating on the net it showed the full szene (more zommed out). I hate myself for losing it.
It would be a good idea to add those servers somewhere on the games info page. Just in case when the news aren't on the top anymore.
There any chance of launching regular UT (2001) servers too? It's that one I want to play the most.
Anyway, I'm getting 2k4 now, expect to see me online during the weekend!

CyPhErIoN: is it long term?

We've launched the servers for a try-out for one month to see how it will work and how popular this will be among our users. So right now we have one month to play some crazy multiplayer matches in UT 2k4. Then we'll see what's next.
Ah, 2004, too bad! My heart is with UT but I might reinstall 2004 just for fun. In any event it's quite a good idea you guys had here.
Wow, that's great news.
Feel a bit gutted that all my Unreal collection is on STEAM (wish GOG got the money now).
I can't justify buying them all again on GOG (even though I want to).
I'll make sure I'll buy some other stuff to say thanks though!
