darthspudius: I just read that article. I was watching wrestlemania last night and first thing out my mouth when I saw Warrior was that he did not look like he was in good health. It was still a shock to read he was dead by the time I got home though.

liquidsnakehpks: i missed the wm but i watched raw and seeing him shake the ropes awkwardly , i thought he has aged a lot but was not expecting this :(
To be honest my concern was mainly from the great physical condition he was not more than 2 years ago. He was pumped... and I really mean physically fit. One thing about Warrior is the fact he always kept in shape. Now when I saw Wrestlemania he looked frail and ill. It was quite alarming that no one said a thing.

I really only feel shock about this. Which makes me feel kind of bad. I don't feel sad, or depressed; I just feel shocked. He was just on Raw the other day, and then twenty four hours or so later he's dead. After seventeen years of being in wrestling exile, he gets his redemption and then dies.

It's so crazy I can't process it.

Never cared for him as a performer (I was/am more into the pure "wrestlers" rather than entertainers) but his impact on the business is undeniable. My sympathy definitely goes out to his fans and especially his family. He didn't look very good this weekend, but I've not really kept up with what his condition so I didn't know to think something was amiss.
At least he made peace with McMahon and got one last taste of the limelight. he and his fans deserved it.

Shock wore off me years ago after I witnessed the death of the 5,458th wrestler. Wrestlers are like rock stars and stunt actors, they typically come in and make a big impact, and ultimately live short, dangerous lives. Warrior at least got to make it past 50.

Don't forget Owen Hart. Probably the saddest one of all, although Eddie dying was really rough too. Loved both of those guys.

And Andre the Giant.


Hulk Hogan, Ultimate Warrior and Andre were probably my favorite when I was a kid. The only one that truly stood out as an adult was UW. He put on a very charismatic, insane, high-energy show. He would say the most weird stuff (like the aforementioned "Don't cut your hair." [possibly a Samson reference?]) and just be rather zany.

Besides visiting TNA with my bro, the only time I've ever bothered to watch a match was a UW feature.

I was only a kid back then but I very vividly remember his match with Hulk Hogan at Wrestlemania. That one will probably stay etched in my memory forever....the guy was a powerhouse back in the day.

Him, Hitman, taker, Edge and Benoit were my favorite wrestlers ever. Now, most of 'em have either passed on or have retired. I don't even follow pro- wrestling that much anymore and watching taker's streak end at the hands of Lesnar was just unfortunate. It was taker's decision I suppose...

R.I.P Warrior.

There are things better left to close family members. Unless he is a loner (eg. Nicolai Tesla) and you know he lived alone, then some stuff are better handled by family members. Unless its a real emergency.

If I understand, he drop and died as he walk to the car along with his wife.

So, maybe them (people at wrestlemania) think it something that he can get better from (maybe mild fever).

Haven't ever been into wrestling but is it just me or was the guy one of the three playable characters in WWF WrestleMania on Amiga, along with Hulk Hogan and some weird Bulldog fella or something?

It felt like I was transported back to when I was in fourth grade as I was reading stories about him after learning of his death. A little bit of my childhood dies everytime I hear of a childhood hero's passing.

As a wrestling fan the deaths of Owen, Eddie and Chris was real hard. The tribute editions of RAW and Smackdown for Eddie was seriously heart breaking. You don't realise how much he effected the lives of the people he knew and his fans until you watch that. Wrestling has never really recovered from the loss of these guys.

I have that match on DVD and it is an absolute classic.

That PPV where Owen died, I think I was 11 at the time and I just did not know what to think. We were just so shocked.
