So I was playing Ultima Underworld and I noticed during the intro that the voice acting very low in regards to the music, so much so that it was barely audible.

the game doesn't seem to have volume controls so I can't do anything about it.

How can I fix this?

Also not a fan of the CD sountrack, is there a way to change soundcards?

Edit: The Music for Ultima underworld 2 is very off key, with lows being highs and highs being barelu audible

You can get better sounding music, but its kind of a hassle. You should check the Ultima series sub forum. I know what your looking for is in there somewhere.
Oh, nevermind, I just discovered the problem.

My headphones' cord has a cut and that made some of the sounds extremely low.

Using another set now and though I miss the floppy disk music for Ultima Underworld, it's not as grating as it was before :P

I'm pretty sure the music is the same in both the floppy and CD versions. How it sounds depends on your soundcard. It is possible to get the superior/different music of a different soundcard. I messed around with it before, and found out how to do it in the Ultima series subforum, so I know its there.
