I just found out I have this, and I blame GOG. You bastards! :P

Anyone else suffering from this? What scares me is I'm afraid I'm going to be like the guy who's had a tracheotomy and STILL smokes. Here I'm going to be with a splint facing possible amputation, still refusing to stop gaming even for a second.

If I didn't need to spend so much time on a keyboard, I'd trade you with my myopia.

I had myopia. It was fixed when I had my first cataract surgery.
I have a thoraic outlet syndrome, so I feel your pain. Pretty much literally.
Are you a bad enough dude to learn to play with your feet?
This is what you get for not getting in a comfy position before polishing the rocket!
Possible amputation? Damn, dude, here's to hoping that won't be necessary.

I was joking about that bit.

God I hope I was! :O

All of a sudden all the myths I heard as a kid about making faces and jerking off come flooding back to me!
What is it anyway, a nerve thing? and did you not get any nerve damage from chemo? I have a constant buzz in my feet since I had it.

XD No. I had a lot of problems from chemo myself but this is much worse than cancer or anything related to cancer. This is all because of gaming!

From what I read basically too much sitting there, hand on mouse, spending endless hours gaming causes a nerve pinch in your forearm that eventually causes numbness in your fingers. There are several remedies listed, the most commonly prescribed one is to cut back on gaming. Yeah...fuck that! My only alternative is to stop every hour or so and rub my forearm for ten minutes.

maybe play some gamepad games
Do you have a wrist support mouse-pad? I've heard that they really help cut down on the stress...maybe could be of some benefit?
As a programmer and gamer, I was obviously going to receive RSI, though luckily not yet to the point you're at. From what I know at this point with carpal tunnel you're already f***ed. I'm sorry for you. There are various aids that you're going to have to learn to use, but I'd stress that it does not mean life without gaming, just life without certain games. Civ 5 is entirely playable with any accessibility enchanced medium.

My solution so far is to become ambidextrous, when my hands last went I reversed my setup, and that worked wonders.
I still have a hard time believing it's game related in this case......

:-)
I think there are way too many people taking my thread way too seriously. Yes I seem to be suffering from this but near as I can tell it's pretty minor and I actually made the OP as kind of a goof to see if anyone else suffers from this crap. I liken it to the golden age of the NES when I would lose virtually all feeling in my thumbs for hours at a time. Hey, if you can't laugh at this stuff, what can you laugh at? :P
