I won't buy even their old games anymore. Ubisoft will get the money and still release DRM like this so I am boycotting all their games until they get rid of all forms of invasive DRM with the exceptions of Steam/Impulse.

I have an objection to the "Ubisoft wants out of PC" theories: Ubisoft bought Nadeo, the TrackMania developers. Now, Nadeo don't do consoles, period: they outsourced the DS and Wii versions of TM to Firebrand Games. I doubt Ubi wants to lose their investment that soon.

Ubisoft has already said they don't want out. It's a stupid theory anyway; if they did, they'd do it cheaply by simply not making PC games. I assume no one meant it seriously.

My internet connection, while *very* good is prone to be unstable in short periodes.
Nothing much, just a quick disconnect now and then, however remembering how BLOODY annoying the last ac was regarding cut-scenes and saves etc...
Pirates will no doubt crack this game, meaning that even if I buy it I will have to crack the damn thing to play it without constant annoyance.
Meaning i'm in the situation where if I wish to play this game properly and "honestly" I have to first purchase it, then download a pirate version and fuse the two together.
Oh yeah, that'll really discourage piracy, it's not as if I could download the full game for free without those issues in about one hour.
By my first day on this site I had bought thirteen titles, I don't mind buying games, certainly not here where customer service is this good.
I also have quite an extensive steam folder, despite the many annoyances of steam.
But assasins creed? buying that will be a very hard pill to swallow indeed, and if I do, the only way for me to play it reliably I also have to visit the pirates to fix it for me.
Companies are noticing how DRM effects sales, I for one think ubisoft could do with a sharp drop of profits to realise our true feelings.
Odds are i'll boicott buying Assassins creed unless they remove the godamn drm.
It's a damn shame too, I would rather like to buy it, but principles should matter.

Having been in the Prince of Persia community for long and even suffering as PC-gamer all the cut out specials which were only released for PS3 and Xbox 360, such as the PoP-classic or even a DLC which continues the story of the new one(the story,dammit!) is beyond excuse.
They said "due business reason" in a small comment of a Community Manager(who got fired for being an asshole mocking the posters in the Ubi-board) but it smells like they don't even give a crap about us! That, or they wasted all the budged on the graphics, but I doubt that really.
The majority of the PoP-community are PC-players after all! It was obvious to bait gamers to buy the console edition to find out what happened after the new PoP, and this was ethical wrong.
I personally think Ubisoft sees the PC as a rattail which causes more or less their financial fiasco and tries to find an excuse to switch to consoles. In this case the pirates.
They are French, even they can't be that stupid! Just evil.

Yeah, but if you have NEVER installed SecuRom, and buy this game from Steam, you do not have a leg to stand on if you complain, since it lists SecuRom right on the store page.

There is no SecuROM. Valve know this and yet won't change the page despite it. If you'd rather believe a store page which has been proven false, that's up to you. It won't change the FACT that SecuROM is not in that version of the game.
And FYI, it's Steam, you have no recourse regardless once the game is no longer a pre-order, if you've ever had a refund from them once, you're not getting another one.

Only one problem with this which is that if this new DRM scheme works well for the PC consoles will be getting it too pretty soon if for no other reason than to kill second hand sales. Used to be that Console games didn't get patches or updates with a hard drive and a constant internet connection consoles are quickly becoming the PC of tomorrow.

Yes, but both were released long after the Steam release which *did* use SecuROM at the time of release. It now only uses Steam's DRM.
