I hope it will be better than EA crap.
Hmm...
The problem with digital bonuses is that it's very easy to put them in a .zip and stick it at the end of a torrent, so I doubt that'll work too well. GOG gets away with it, because they specialise in old games, and I imagine the demand for old games on piracy websites is quite a bit smaller than new games. I think this new "Ubisoft DRM" will wind up being the new StarForce/SecuROM, but we'll see.
Oh, and the moaning about the DS sales: make good games first, then you can moan.

chautemoc: However some companies like Capcom and BioWare are clever with it..I couldn't get a pirated version of DMC4 working for this reason, and can't crack my legit version still -- they put in bugs to trigger if all the necessary files and whatnot are not present. Similar story with Mass Effect. I think a disk check combined with tripwires like this is honestly a great system..the legit version then overall is more appealing..at least to anyone with sense.

sheepdragon: I cracked my copy of Mass Effect. The first few cracks had some trips that were triggered, like occasionally permanently overheating weapons or problems with the travel map, though after a while a perfectly working crack was made. I used the crack because I didn't want to deal with limited activation and such though. At least now they've made a revoke tool for it.

Cool, I think I found one too but I was also getting crazy stuttering in the game...couldn't play it. Not sure if that was intentional or not. Good to know anyway for when I buy it. Cracks can be lovely. Really don't want to worry about if I can play the game or not in the future.
I paid £4 for a like new copy of GTA 4. Yet thanks to the copy protection making me jump through hoops for an hour (mostly thanks to GFWL's failure at patching) I still wound up feeling like I'd been ripped off. Damn thing still needs the disc in too, after all that.
I get the feeling that whatever this "tool" is, it's only going to be yet another inconvenience that destroys any entertainment value the game would otherwise have. What's the point in an entertainment product that only pisses people off?
