The pack is pretty nice, and 50% is not a big problem when it's only 6 games. It was mich harder to get when it was complete Ubi catalogue 50% off.

So, if it was just normal weekend deal, I'd say it's neat, but as a Easter holdiay promo it is not so well. Especially that people should have one or two free days more, so they could spend some more cash and play some GOGs.

Already own Sands of Time and Far Cry on disk, not interested in the rest.

I think I'll pick up Far Cry.
I already have 3 copies of Prince of Persia (Gamecube, Steam, GoG), but I would totally recommend it to anyone who hasn't played it yet.

I'm quite interested in PoP:SoT but I read the controls of the PC conversion were awful and I don't intend to buy a controler for the PC, so I'm hesitant whether to buy it here or get a used copy for the PS2. Does the PC version work well with mouse and keyboard?

I'm also a bit afraid that it might turn out a frustrating experience because I often suck at arcade game - easier games like Psychonauts and Tomb Raider are just challenging enough for me but if PoP is about lots of difficult jumps, maybe with critical camera angles, I see myself failing miserably ... ;)

Btw, can you save all the time or only at save points and in the latter case how far are they apart?

I've finished it on PC without controler, and I had no problems with using keyboard/mouse. Awesome game, btw.

I haven't tried the PC keyboard controls, but if you have a gamepad that would probably be a lot better.
Also, the game is really easy, if you make a mistake you can rewind time. The other two games in that trilogy, Warrior Within, and The Two Thrones are much more difficult.

Oh, and you can only save at save points, but if I remember correctly you'll probably see one once every 10 to 15 minutes?

get an PS2-to-USB controller adapter?
Playing games like PoP with Keyboard and Mouse surely would take away from the experience. Not that getting it for PS2 (or the PS3 HD-Remake) would be a bad idea either

Most challenge comes from finding your way, and not precise acrobatics. That and there are a few sequences where fights can be challenging. My little sister is very bad at action games and still was able to finish it, so its by no stretch a hard game.

Hey, there are only three chess games on GOG, and Chessmaster 9000 is the best of them. It's great for all skill levels, and the presentation makes up for the fact that there are so many options, many of them free, available on all platforms. I'd recommend it to anybody who has yet to learn the game.

I do have a soft spot for Battle Chess, though. The NES version of that game, which I would frequently rent from the library, as well as a children's chess learning set, both taught me how to play despite knowing nobody who knew how.


As for Driver, I don't know a thing about that. I bought Chessmaster 9000 last year (along with IL-2 Sturmovik), but I've yet to play any Driver games. I've heard bad-to-mediocre things, and I already have GTA I, II, III, Vice City, San Andreas, and the Liberty City and Vice City Stories, so I'm pretty good as far as that genre goes...

I'd probably get Far Cry and Prince of Persia if it was $5 each, in fact I believe I passed on both of them last year in favor of other sales. I played the Xbox version of the latter (which includes the original two games) some time ago, it'd be great if GOG could bundle the original games with Sands of Time in the future.


I'm saving up for whatever might be in the upcoming Atari games, as well as both Witcher games, so if I'm going to spend $14, it'd be better spent on a game or two from my wishlist, I'm afraid. I have to agree that I'm not fond of these up-to sales, but as has already been said here, it's better than no sale at all, and I'm not unappreciative enough to look a gift horse in the mouth after all the countless savings I've already gotten here.

If I'm going to bicker, I'd much rather bicker about a certain publisher not having any sales whatsoever since I joined, but even then, all of their games are $6, so it's hard to complain. :P
