Anyone would say that this kind of online enabled DRM might be prone to bugs like the recent PS3 leap year bug? That would be awesome if it let you play DRM games every 4 years. :D
Hehe the PC version already has a patch, weeks before release
http://www.ubi.com/US/Games/Info.aspx?pId=7731&tab=download&dcId=63
Only notable change:
"Game can now be continued from the exact same point when connection is restored"
Still doesn't fix the problem but instead of a kick in the throat and sulfuric acid poured into your eyes, it's a kick in the throat with vinegar poured into your eyes
So... better but not quite the cause for euphoric celebration

Released today in Australia. :)
That's very cool though. I agree with your analogy but yeah..haha
Eyefinity support is awfully cool...

Silent Hunter V uses the same DRM and has already been cracked, so I guess it's just a short matter of time before the same applies to Assassin's Creed 2.

Oh well it's not like it wasn't to be expected...
I know I shouldn't but I have to admit that I hardly feel sorry for the peoples having troubles playing the game, they knew the risk , they decided to support this kind of DRM anyway, now they pay the price for it...

I actually feel more sorry for those who were aware of the DRM and didn't bought it. Now Ubisoft will keep this DRM.
Damn 13 yr old newfags buying it anyway...
For those still interested, this is the new market report about Ubisoft:

Oh well if they continue using this DRM it just means more money for other games, last year with the money I spared by not buying FC2, Dead Space or ME1(I know the last two are not Ubi's) because of the DRM I bought lots of GoG games... this year I used the money I spared by not buying Splinter Cell, AC2 and the new PoP to finally convinced me to buy a PS3 to play GoW 3...
The funniest part is that now if I want to play Ubi games I no longer need to buy them... I can just borrow them from my brother who owns them or will buy them on PS3... so after all maybe this DRM IS a good thing :-)

I will just rent the new PoP for the PS3, maybe along AC 2. It's alot cheaper than buying it on PC and/or PS3, will be able to play the game legally, and the best part, I won't support Ubisoft that way.

I am shocked! Shocked I tell you!
But to be serious, I think nearly everyone here easily saw this coming. All I can hope is that the experience has made some people more aware of the potential problems of DRM, so at least something positive comes out of their experience.
Looking at price alone (Amazon), why would anyone buy AC II for the PC. Seems the price for a product should be the same across the board, IMHO . . . unless you REALLY are trying to drive customers to a specific platform.
The ratings are overwhelmingly 5 star for the Xbox and PS3. Can't wait to see the ratings on the PC version after release. . . .=)

Great news. With any luck they won't patch it out either, so their paying customers will be left with coasters.
