It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

trusteft: IIRC Command and Conquer 4 will also have something similar, you will need to be online to play single player etc.

chautemoc: Yeah, and it's damn crazy. But according to EA's "research", most people don't care. Maybe they dont, I dont know. I've encountered a lot of people that say they dont, and obviously the success of Steam is a testament to that.

I have it on good authority that said research was conducted at 3 Infant Schools (Ages 5-7) in close proximity to EA's LA base of operations...where coincidentally, the fathers of the children questioned, work.
:P
Wow, it's getting better and better, congratulations Ubi!
Another smart move.
Or, "how to encourage pirates, and convert non-pirates to piracy".
Well, no more Ubisoft games for me. Too bad, I was really looking forward to Assassin's Creed 2 on the PC, but I wonder if it will have that system, judging from the small note in the D2D game page, that reads "A permanent high-speed Internet connection is required to play the game."
If it is so, I guess I'll pass. I'd rather not be a hostage of Ubi and my ISP.
Wow - It truly remains to be seen; but this sounds remarkably half-assed version of steam. And one thing I do not like is if I buy something on steam then having to go to another on-line service. And last time I checked the boards there were a few complaints about uplay messing up peoples assassins creed II saves; and of course the customer service for all these publishers totatlly bites.
I purchased their DRM free Prince of Persia game solely to support their efforts. Apparently, that support was misplaced . . . fool me once . . . =).

"I fink DRM is bad..."
"DAMMIT TIMMY YOU'RE GROUNDED!"
Image sums it up nicely . . . =)

Yeah.......................... GREAT...........
back to piracy for me, gonna go tell Haji I need Ubi games now.......
You know... if I was not in Iraq this would not bother me nearly as much but wtf!?!?
2 dollars for cracked working copies of your game vs hassels with being legit..........
khadjkhasjk djkab FUC!
Yes, because when my internet goes down from time to time, I definitely don't want to play any single-player games.
I prefer the good old Securom CD-check than THIS, seriously... the can only force back people into piracy.

I just saw that.
A PERMANENT HIGH SPEED INTERNET CONNECTION AND CREATION OF A UBISOFT ACCOUNT ARE REQUIRED TO PLAY THIS VIDEO GAME AT ALL TIMES AND TO UNLOCK EXCLUSIVE CONTENT. SUCH CONTENT MAY ONLY BE UNLOCKED ONE SINGLE TIME WITH A UNIQUE KEY. YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 13 TO CREATE A UBISOFT ACCOUNT WITHOUT PARENTAL CONSENT. UBISOFT MAY CANCEL ACCESS TO ONLINE FEATURES UPON A 30-DAY PRIOR NOTICE PUBLISHED AT http://assassinscreed.com.

They really are stupid. To think I was one of the many that bought the last PoP just to support their DRM-free efforts. :|

No. Do not want.
Well, it seems like avenues such as GOG will profit as more people walk away and look for a sane alternative.
I will stick with GOG, Indie Publishers that produce DRM free games, and the DRM free games from Gamersgate.
These services provide more than enough games to keep one busy and broke!

So they can kill the entire game at any time? So not only is it expensive, but it's expensive rentware? Wonderful. No bloody thanks.
UBBorg EULA . . . now we know why they were so mad all the time . . .=)
