Crosmando: As long as Might & Magic 10 turns out good and they keep putting their old games on GOG I don't really care about Ubi's mainstream line-up
Question:

Is M&M 10 gonna be more like the DOS games or the Windows games?

More like the the DOS games I'd say. Grid-based movement and turn-based combat. But there's some changes which are more like the Windows games; you don't need gems for spells like Xeen. Also the MM6-style recruitable hirelings are back, but they are more like just static buffs than actual characters.

Oh and trainers are out, which kinda sucks. You won't need to visit trainers to level up, but I think for training new branches of magic/abilities you might, can't remember.

I personally like the free movement and realtime combat of the windows games but eh better than nothing.
This is nothing new, even after "removing always online" their games still required a constant internet connection in order to obtain all the content. Play offline and you are stuck with an incomplete game.

Online when launching the game. At least that was the case with AC2 and AC:B, haven't lost internet with AC:R yet.

I think he was referring to games like the last Anno and HoMM6 where some single-player features are disabled if you are not on-line.

Are they disabled if you lose access to the internet, or are the disabled if you start the game while offline?
AC2 was also one of the "Always online", and the extra tomb and the extra knives are only available if you do run it while online in UPlay. If you lose internet access while playing, you can still access the content.
Since Assassin’s Creed is listed on GOG for a year now, maybe we’ll see AC2 in another year or so at the same place. Wait for it … at least I wait for it because I really want to play this, but not with Online-DRM and Uplay.
Some people probably think I obsess about DRM, but hey... Ubisoft are waaaaaaay more obsessed than me!
They really, reeaaaaally don't want me as their customer, right? Well, I've found the door.
A couple of images from our 2010 Ubisoft discussion . . =)
