My money will be thrown at sega or gog.com if Typing of the dead gets the GOG or Steam treatment.

I've never played this typing game but I'm a huge fan of the House of the Dead arcade rail shooters.

After watching LPers play this game I just want to get this game.

If anyone who has played the PC version do you know if it supports 2 player mode?
I'd rather have the pc ports of the house of the dead games.

Considering Typing of the Dead Overkill includes the original Overkill game, why not both?
Would be cool. But was specifically meaning 1 and 2, loved those in the arcade. :P

Don't you need those special laser guns for that?

Are you talking about this? 'Cause if you mean an earlier game, I doubt it'll be released here or on Steam.

No, unless a laser mouse counts.
house of the dead was one of thefirst games I played on pc, could never beat it (alone is very hard to beat) and you use the mouse on the pc

There's no chance of seeing it on GOG as SEGA Japan won't allow it.

House of the dead 1&2 were released on PC.

Well, there's a bunch of Sega games available DRM-free on DotEmu...

I have the retail version of Typing of the Dead PC (and yeah I liked it a lot, haven't played it for years though). I can't really remember if it had a two player mode, but I am pretty sure it didn't, at least two people playing on the same computer, as you use the keyboard to write words. Not sure if it had online multiplayer. Maybe I'll check it later.

I recall playing the PC version of Virtua Cop a long time ago (I don't recall if it was 1 or 2), and at least there the problem with mouse aiming was that there is so much flashing and explosions on the screen that it was hard to keep track of of your mouse pointer (aim) in the heat of the battle. It was just hard to see lots of times where the aiming reticle was. That made the gameplay quite a bit harder than with a light gun, lots of times you were shooting blind, without knowing where exactly you were aiming.

What you see there are basically the only ones available for purchase in Japan on Steam (there's a few exceptions, namely the very last batch released). But "new" SEGA games such as Typing of the Dead, Sonic and All Stars Racing Transformed, etc., are not available.

So no. There's zero chance of seeing this on GOG.
