nicohvc: well my second try: 87
And with that guess, the 80's become the first tens group with half of the numbers guessed. As I've been tracking the guesses, it's been amazing to see how almost perfectly spread the quesses have been. Prior to this guess, the 00's, 10's, 20's, 30's, 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, and 90's ALL had either three or four guesses from each group. This guess made the 5th one taken in the 80's.
Stuff like that fascinates me, as it would be an indicator of an overall community awareness and thus spreading out of their guesses. But the five repeats is an indicator of unawareness, so it's a puzzle. Still, very interesting.
Just a few more guesses and we'll have reached 40% of the possible guesses.
Next time (not tonight obviously but some time) I'm going to try it again, same rules of 1 guess per post, but have a better prize that more are interested in to see how the guesses come then. But in this very spread out, slow moving one, the guesses have been spread out very well, almost perfectly. I would suspect that in one that garners more interest and moves faster, the guesses would be much less likely to be so perfectly spread out like that, but it would still be fun to verify it.
I wonder if a collection of the Trainz software (Trainz 12 with it's DLC) or the Magicka collection would garner such interest? Or perhaps the Hacker collection. Or maybe the Crazy Machines collection. Or just a self selected multi-game set. I dunno, I'm gonna think about it, and see what I can come up with but definitely want to explore this some more.
