Gee, I wonder what happens

But at least it looks like Murphy and Crowe are patched up. I remeber hearing they had falling out.

Interesting. I smell a new kickstarter on the horizon.
Pretty cool that all the old developers seem to be coming back out of retirement.
If they actually create a game I'll probably get it, I love the SQ series.
Oh my god, this is so awesome! I've been waiting for this day ever since Sierra halted development on Space Quest 7. I wonder if they've been fortunate enough to get the Space Quest lisence back from Activision. Yay!!!
I just noticed their photogallery. From the looks of it they seem to have at least some original background art from SQIV intact, which is cool.

This. I just hope they'll wait a bit.
Wow, great news!

As a big Space Quest fan, I hope they can still create something of that quality.
That's very interesting. The guys from Replay Games (who are currently running the Leisure Suit Larry Kickstarter) have said that they tried to get Mark Crowe and Scott Murphy on board for a new Space Quest game. While Scott Murphy was interested, Mark Crowe declined, explaining that his current position at Pipeworks Software would lead to a conflict of interest. Now it doesn't look like Replay Games is involved in this new project at all... Since they called the new game a "new sci-fi themed adventure" in the video, I assume that it won't be a new Space Quest game. Anyway, I'm very excited about this.

Josh Mandel mentioned at the Larry Kickstarter, that Crowe and Murphy are working on a new sci-fi title.

If I were to finally play a SQ game, which is the best to start on?

Note that I often hate Sierra adventure games because of the traps, deaths and dead-ends.

I would recommend playing Space Quest 4 and 5 first. The first three games are seriously dated, but 4 and 5 still hold up really well today, I think. They do contain deaths, but no dead ends as far as I can remember. Overall, Space Quest 5 is probably my favorite game of the series.
Waitaminute...

Mark Crowe and Scott Murphy. Working together! In 2012!

I think I just saw a pig fly by my window.

And it isn't even 1st of April!

Where's the kickstarter? I have a sudden urge to throw a rather considerate amount of buckazoids at those Andromedan noses. Dowant! Seriously! I have been waiting, hoping, dreaming for this to happen for a decade and a half! Never thought I would see the day. O.O

There's a VGA version of Space Quest 1, but not on GOG (I think the Steam version might have it though?).

For a free taste though, you could always try the Space Quest 2 remake: http://www.infamous-adventures.com/home/index.php?page=games

My favourite has always been Space Quest 4, but SQ5 is very good too.
If the Two guys do a kickstarter for another space quest or even a space questish type game count me as a kickstarter backer

Id's suggest SQ4 upwards, thought dying is pretty common in Space Quest games. SQ3 is great too, but pretty short game if you know what you're doing.

Then there's the unofficial Infamous Adventures remake of SQ2, which is fairly 1:1, but has some additional elements and different ways to solve puzzles in it.
