You look mostly on "Caused by Driver" tab

No need for apologies, what you should be looking for is under Type should be Error not Information in the list. Like the image link I posted. Once you are there you can check the Event ID to track down the problem.

Interesting, in both critical cases there are exactly the same type of two errors that precede it (Application Popup)

THE EVENT ID says 41 next to the critical one.

Well, maybe those two preceding the critical ones were no link, because I'm scrolling down and seeing about a dozen instances of the ERROR, both Application Popup, both Event ID 1060 and there was no critical error following them each time.

But boy, there are lots of errors here. Is that normal?

This is a driver incompatibility error. Check out This Link for more info. But this error occurs when trying to run a 32 bit device driver on 64 bit Win7.

Hmm... yeah according to a Microsoft support article Event 41 just indicates that windows was shutdown unexpectedly and doesn't really provide a reason for it besides interruption of power to the system but not very informative otherwise. But, for the error code you got 0x0000009f, I found this Microsoft support link which says that it is because of a driver which is causing power failure problems in the system. You can go through and see the resolution section to see whether it has any useful information.

Thanks, I just googled "Event 41" and found several examples of folks saying something about this occurring and found one that said he discovered when he turned all the sleep options off, he no longer got that error.

And you know, as I said, both times it happened, it happened during times of not being used (maybe it was getting ready to go to sleep???)

I know I'm no techie, but between the two errors I noted, where the App Popup error was a result of running a 32 bit driver on a 64 bit machine, is it possible the motherboard in my case (I assume the sleep function that may be trying to occur is from the motherboard because I disabled sleep in Windows a loooong time ago) might be using 32 bit drivers for whatever hardware on the motherboard engages the sleep activity, and it's thus, causing my BSOD?????

How much free space do you have on your hard drive?

I had a computer that only had a 300 GB hard drive, and whenever it dropped under 50 GB it would blue screen every 20 to 30 minutes. This was when I was still in college, so being broke and thinking my computer was dying was a crappy time.

Luckily, a quick google search told me to keep some room, which fixed my problem. Hopefully it is something as cheap and easy as that for you.

Now back to the issue at hand there is definitely some kind of power related issue that is causing the BSOD as usually when a computer is going into sleep mode it means it is going to power saver mode. But as you've said you have disabled that in windows so it shouldn't. The motherboard is also responsible for power management for components and there maybe something in the BIOS for that, I am not sure though would have to look into it to determine whether that is a possibility or not. :)
