Just in case anyone is unclear what Apogee/3DRealms could bring to the table, here you go.
GOG out of Beta.

sa5t: GOG out of Beta.

GOG bought by Valve :P Lulz

apexultima: Well if it is 3D Realms you could relate that hint to possibly Balls of Steel. Maybe yes, maybe no. but thats all i can think of. I'm probably wrong though.

JiliK: You might be onto something there. It was developed by Wildfire Studios, which could be what the "flame" is referring to. The "evil" could be referring to Devil's Island, a table that was dropped from Balls of Steel and released as a game in it's own right.
Based on that and the rest of the clues so far, I'm going to have to go with 3D Realms/Apogee too.

Also fits with the "We've got a bleeder" clue.
(from my post in the other thread: For the bleeder clue, it's a quote from "There's Something About Mary" in reference to ...uh... man bits. Apogee once had a pinball division that released a game called "Balls of Steel" -- which was also mentioned in Duke Nukem 3D).
goddamn it's 3d Realms/Apogee, I'm convinced.

I knew i heard that somewhere! It was stuck in my head for damn long!
And i believe the division was called Pinball Wizards
Take 2? They have Rockstar Studios which have developed quite a few games banned worldwide :P
Apogee / 3D Realms is my guess.

bpops: Apogee / 3D Realms is my guess.

Isn't it based in Texas?
Looking Glass Studios.
One can dream right? Ultima Underworld, Thief, System Shock.. all very yummy.

And they are based in New York.
Take-two is my guess.
If it is not Apogee/3DRealms I will cry. Not really.
But the clues sure point to Apogee/3DRealms which would be pretty damn cool.
Considering some of the evidence presented I'd have to say Apogee/3DRealms. Wish I had seen this going on sooner!

I'M not convinced yet. If it were 3D Realms & Apogee, it would really take away from the hugeness of this announcement. Much as I'd love to play the full version of Shadow Warrior after all these years, I think it's probably more than likely some developer that not only fits ALL the clues (and is not jammed into all the clues just to convince yourselves it's 3D Realms/Apogee), it would also bring a LARGE catalog of titles.
So I personally am convinced it's Atari/Infogrames/GT Interactive (since UT and its ilk are already on GOG, why not get that publisher, too?). Why? Because GT Interactive/Infogrames/Atari has an amazing back catalog of not only published titles, but developed ones too:
Blood (which was Monolith-developed, NOT 3D Realms (even though the Build enging was used)
Unreal Tournament (sound familiar?)
Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus (again, sound familiar?)
Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee (once again, sound familiar?)
the Area 51 arcade game port to PC
The Witcher (again, sound familiar?
So, I think it's GT Interactive/Infogrames/Atari, since a lot of their published games are already up on GOG.com.

You forgot the original Alone in the Darks (not the remakes.....blecchhhh). And I think there was Knight's Chase that used the same engine as Alone in the Dark.
