You should definitely jump in on turntable.fm! People create lobbies where up to 5 users DJ for a crowd. If the music the DJ is playing gets voted "LAME" enough times, the DJ gets pulled off the stage. If the music is rated "AWESOME", the DJ begins to build DJ points which distinguish good DJs from bad DJs.

Anyway, I've found it to be a great, free way to discover new music, while hanging out in a more lively environment than a static MP3 player. The only downside is that you have to have a Facebook account to use it, and you have to be Facebook friends with someone else who is on the site. If you don't know anyone that matches that description, you can request an e-mail after answering a bit of trivia from the movie Airheads.
Interesting. It doesn't say who the Facebook friend is though when you log in.
Cool, will have to check out.

To be fair, that's not their fault. That's the bullshittastic legality of licensing shit. :(
