orcishgamer: If your thread titles is an actual question the answer is "both". Personally, you should focus on the positive, there's a lot of it. Act as young as you feel (that would be 28 or 12 for me, depending on my mood), yes, you'll feel it for a couple days afterward, more and more. Learn yoga, even if you don't practice regularly, knowing how to stretch muscle groups helps a ton when you're hurting or wake up stiff.

Use this as an excuse to indulge in snobby stuff. Older men get to shave with a double edge or throat cutter (and use nice shaving soap and brush), drink good coffee, smoke good cigars, appreciate (and NOT gulp down!) good scotch, drink copious amounts of white wine, etc. and no one will think you're eccentric anymore, just "refined":)

Pluck white hairs in your beard (if you have one) and get rid of it if you start looking your age more than you'd like. If you're single you're allowed to date pretty much anyone you want, from 20 to twice your age (though as you get older pick an actual number for your top limit, dating an 80 year old might not be that fun):)

Anyway, happy birthday, every decade has something awesome in it, and you don't have to give up all the "good stuff" of youth, either, if you like it (it makes you feel alive anyway)! I hope someone gets you something nice and some folks who care for you spend some time with you;)
Thanks for the advice. Will look into some of it.

And for gifts, don't know all of them, but I do know the one from my wife:

Anyway, happy birthday! Thanks for the giveaway.
I'm in for:
4. Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena, The (GOG)
16. Last Express, The (GOG)
Pre-congratulations!

About turning 30, it was pretty ok I have to say. I remember turning 20 was a really weird feeling. Leaving your teens, but never had that feeling when I turned 30. The only thing I notice is it's becoming harder to keep my weight in check. I kinda gained 10kg's after turning 30. But most of that is due to limited time for sports. Also, more options will open up at work. I made promotion like 3 times in a year. Currently fulfilling 3 jobs in one, which is a bit hectic, but I love the diversity.

32 now, still going strong. I feel as vital and alive as I ever did. So yeah, I wouldn't worry about it. Just have a great party, that certainly helps. I actually celebrated my 30th 3 times. Once with friends in the park on the actual day, once with my family, and once with other friends and relatives. Was a blast every time!

So yeah, 30... It's gonna rock mate! :)

And then, the giveaway. Much appreciated! That's quite a collection you are giving away. I would love to enter for the following 2.

5. Cossacks Anthology (GOG)
21. Perimeter (GOG - gone from catalog)

I didn't get to buy them last time they were on sale, but would love to play them to dust.
Have a great birthday!
Thanks for this generous giveaway, Aningan! :D You gave us a lot of nice options. I'd like to participate and I'm interested in these two:

14. King's Bounty: Armored Princess (GamersGate)
18. Men of War + Assault Squad + Red Tide + Vietnam (GamersGate)

Turning thirty! Sucks or Rocks?

I'm approaching 30 myself. Time goes so fast as people say. It doesn't have to wait to 50 years old to feel this way.

It's Rocks for me. I'm trying to be positive. You learn more and more as you reach 30. You know many things better than before. Girls will like me better when I'm older.
It's Sucks too because you're losing your youth and you're approaching closer to the end of your life. But it's rocks more than sucks. Because it's inevitable, we all grow old and die, that's how we live.
Hello,

Happy birthday for starters. Secondly, turning 30 is a blessed relief. All that pressure leading up to it and the looming fear that your exploratory/best/free years are behind you all melts away the day you actually turn 30. I'm some 3 months into being 30 and am very much enjoying it - plus everyone stops talking about it once it's actually happened; I think that's where most of the pressure comes from actually: other people mentioning it from the day to turn 29.

Cossacks and Freedom Force for me please.

Thanks
3. Blood (One Unit Whole Blood) (GOG)
9. Darkstone (GOG)

Happy condolances on your new milestone! ;)

Years are really of no importance. You can be young when you are 60 and be old when you are 20. Your life will be like you make it for yourself.
Just don't stop playing games...that's the quickest route to being old.
