Looks kinda interesting, might have to keep an eye on it
The UI is really, really, really, really, really cool.
Do you think the ships will remain Red and Blue in the final product? It would be sweet to see them looking more realistic.
I saw it on RPS some time ago. Looks really fun to play, even though the snippet they showed was just a small skirmish. At least it's not a blatant rip-off of Homeworld like I thought it'd be before I watched the video. Phase based gameplay isn't innovative, but few games these days have it; and anyway from the trailer, it seems to fit right into the gameplay comfortably.
This looks cool and probably the closest I'll get to a battlefleet gothic pc game so I'll probably have to buy it. The Red and Blue ships don't look great thats for sure, if they do make the final product I wonder how easy it would be to mod some ship textures into the game.
All it says it coming soon, no release dates or news. Just promises on what the game will contain. All the games that have no release date and give out promises were things like UFO: ET and Master of Orion 3, both epic fail. There's more I'm just too tired to list them now.
Guys, I am going to do an interview with Brendon Chung, the developer of FLOTILLA so if you have any questions you'd like me to forward to him please let me know. I'll be conducting this interview tomorrow at noon and I'll post the link to it here when it's done.
I wrote Blendo Games and asked if there would be any DRM in the game, and was told there are no plans for any form of DRM in Flotilla.
Very Nice! :o)

Well that's cool. Watched the video again and noticed some small stuff, like the UI but sure hope we get textures. Since Faithful said no DRM I'm in a much better mood so I'll forward you a question:
Is there a meta-map form of campaign or will Flotilla be based strictly on combat based missions? If there is a meta-map can you elaborate on how it would operate?

Noted an will pass it along; from what I saw in the end of the video there seems to be a meta-map because he was moving his fleet around when he showed the panda unit(?). But we'll find out for sure tomorrow.
It looks interesting, but I'm afraid it might be trying to be "too indie". That music was horrendous, the basic red vs. blue is boring, the quirky humor of things like panda pilots is played... all the kinds of things that keep many indie games from having wider success. Then again, if they had wider success, then they might lose the "indie cred".

Yeah that was exactly what was going on in my mind, sort of how campy movies are crap by critics but get fans because they suck (?wtf why?) and it was on the tip of my tongue but I couldn't find a word for that 'indie' quality some casual games are getting.
I might be good gameplay so I will try the demo when it comes out, as long as gameplay is good I can ignore panda pilots.
Will address this issue and see his response. I can't say I have a problem with the way indie games look and play.
In the end we have to remember that this is mostly a one-man production so we can't expect AAA quality in some areas (graphics, sound, engine) but we can demand that when it comes to gameplay. And so far, from what I've seen, it indeed has that quality to it.
The Panda and similar stuff does bother me, too. Don't mind graphics. But I value good storyline and pushing things into the "haha funny" direction doesn't seem a good idea. Good comedy is probably the hardest thing to write/create. If it isn't good, but just silly and rather pointless, it's really detrimental.

Anyone know if all their games are DRM Free? If so I will add them to the DRM Free gaming thread.
