Email Brendon to see how things are going.
Consider this a *bump*
Tomorrow or the day after that the interview should be ready if everything goes well.
Today has been a really productive day!
Flotilla interview is up (at least the English version for the time being); read it here. Comments are welcomed :D

Looks like Gamersgate will release Flotilla 1st of March, $10.

It's out - you can get it from the developer's page:

There's a demo too. Just bought it. Brilliant game.

Can we coop or skirmish via internet, or is it local splitscreen only? This is a deal-breaker subject for me right now.

Only split-screen
Got the game and I hope to write a review of it as soon as possible. Because of my schedule and lack of decent internet I can't give an ETA for the article.

I'll have to wait for a while until I get spare cash again then. Hopefully online play will be added later, maybe we can ask the developer to implement it?

You can suggest it but from the interview he said that the only modes of multiplayer will be split-screen.
The game is fun and the only minor gripe I have with it is that due to the fact that lbh unir bayl 7 zbaguf gb yvir (ROT13-ed because it can be a spoiler) adventures tend to end up somewhat fast. This leads to replaying the game though as you want to visit all the planets and do all you can do.
All in all it's 10USD well spent.
Also, tb87670, the game has a demo you can try.
OK, so I've spent some more time with it and this game is insanely fun but can be hard as hell; I had the misfortune to have a battle just at the start of the game: I had two puny destroyers (the starting fleet), the rabbits had 5.
It started with both of us trying to go down and hit the enemy from bellow but the damn AI turned his ships over so then I tried flanking and getting his ass; no luck as with 5 ships the bastard had all the angles closed pretty good.
The solution came after I hid one of my ships after some debris which protected it from incoming fire and from where I was harassing the other ships with focus fire (faster firing rate but limited range of movement) while with the other ship (that got destroyed near the end and left me alone against 3 enemy ships) I was trying to move around and shoot as much as possible.
I won in the end, just barely, after getting the last ship from cover and keeping his armor oriented towards the enemy (which gave me a shitty arc of fire as they were trying to surround me), but oh man were those 17 minutes of swearing and trying to outsmart an AI that outnumbered me.
You must get this!
Yeah, it's a great game. The random nature of the adventures can make for some hard times every now and then (like having to face three battleships with two small destroyers), but even then it's still fun. I'm really glad I got the game; I'm loving it.

Wolfox:

Actually it's easy then: you just move around them with flank mode with one ship while the other is firing and moving back and when the first one gets behind them they should already be with their backs turned and belly-side up so that you can do some serious damage. You can also hide behind debrief or try and make them collide/shoot (into) each other.
The hard part is when you have to face 5 destroyers that are as fast as you, that's when things get interesting and you kind of start using obscenities :)
Also get the latest patch (v.1.2) if you haven't already, it fixes some crashes and adds a "Draw Planets" video option. You can find the patch and the release notes here.
It's great that Brendon will keep on working on the game and fixing bugs and listening to feedback from the community.
Looks nifty, if a bit non-intuitive (not a fan of the separate xy and z movement phases). If this ever comes to Steam or Impulse, I'll probably buy it.

Just did, your story sold me. Will try and see, at least the dev is doing like Positech and listening to the community.
EDIT: Sigh, feels like I bought a beta and I am overly underwhelmed. Oh well, I got dumb and forgot to try the demo first and broke one of my rules with games. Well at least it wasn't a $50 game................
