CDP Days 2011 Spring Conference has just finished and everything is clear now. If you haven't been able to tune in to watch the live stream, don't worry. We've prepared a quick summary of our presentation with a video recap for your convenience. So, let's not wait any longer.

At the very beginning we had to brag a bit about how awesome the service is doing, of course thanks to you - our great users. And then, suddenly, the lights went off, creepy moans started letting out from all over the place while The EnigmaticT tried to discern something in the dark with his flashlight.

Worry not, it was the announcement of Alone in the Dark, that comes with Alone in the Dark 2 and Alone in the Dark 3 as free bonus materials! This great series starts a new wave of Atari games that will be available in the coming weeks! And on 10th of May as the last game from Atari, we'll release The Witcher: Enhanced Edition Director's Cut. What's even cooler we're going to have a special, time-limited offer that will give you a 50% discount, so the game will cost you only $4.99!

As we're on the subject of The Witcher, we had more cool stuff about its upcoming sequel on GOG.com. Starting on May 10, everyone who pre-order The Witcher 2 on GOG.com will be able to pre-purchase the game and download 90% of the build, so they can play the game on release day! So if you haven't pre-ordered the game yet, you'd better do that before May 16! More details on The Witcher deals can be found here.

Pre-downloading such huge game like The Witcher 2 is some serious business, and you'd need some serious downloader to do that. That's where the GOG.com Spring Site Update comes in! Late April we'll introduce a brand new, improved and slick GOG Downloader which will allow you to download all your GOG games fast and easy. What else? Personal messaging will be now possible for all our users!

But that's not all! At the very end, spotlight was on your favourite French Monk, who had some news regarding new publishers coming to the site. Microsoft, Electronic Arts, LucasArts, Take2 and SquareEnix - one of those publishers is already signed, while two more from the list are almost on board! Which and when is coming? Well, you'll have to wait a bit for that :)

You can watch the video recap of the presentation here. Enjoy!

v1989: Only VII and VIII were at PC, but still it would be great.
It would be great indeed. I still remember that i had an old pc with win98 in order to play FF7 properly :P Although the sound of Lucas Arts brings a lot of GOM (Good Old Memories :P)
Purchased Desperados and completed, 20-30 hours of gameplay. Will purchased Alone in the dark when I can :)
Shame... I already have ffvii and viii in my ps3... But hey... Can you mod ffvii on pc?

reaver894: Nah more RPG's and RTS
avatar
CrazyDiscoBall: I wouldn't mind some more RTS games. I loved the old Warhammer games such as Dark Omen and Chaos Gate.
Personally, I'd love to see Warhammer 40k: Final Liberation, it was a very very good turn based strategy game.

Oh, and the Myth series!

TheEnigmaticT: *lots of stuff*
Pardon my necro, but with all these improvements on the site, is there any chance of getting generic GOG gift certificates anytime soon? You know, priced @ $4.99 & $9.99, so you can give a code to a friend & let them choose whichever GOG they want. Set it up so that if they get a $4.99 gift, it'll show only the $4.99 GOGs to choose from, and if they get a $9.99 gift, they get to choose from all.

Seems simple enough, and I'd gift more GOGs to friends who aren't necessarily "regulars" here on GOG. :-D

Aaaaah! Zombie post! Aaaaah!

...I know we're exploring some "refer a friend" ideas here at the office which may contain some functionality like that, but we're very much in the "concepting and brainstorming" phase, so I couldn't say if that's going to show up any time soon or not.

Yes to all three. :D

[[EDIT]]

In my defense, I'm playing JA2 right now in windowed mode and I have the forums on autorefresh on the other monitor.

(Hey, dawg! I hear you like nerd so I put nerd in your nerd so you can nerd while you nerd!)

Lucasarts is coming? What bugs me is that around five years
ago, Amazon.co.uk was selling "Lucas Classic" games, such
as Sam and Max / Day of the Tentacle combo. I would have
bought it, but they won't ship games to the US.

I really hope that they bring their entire olde catalog to GOG.

Who owns the rights to the adventure game "Toonstruck"?
I'd love to see that here, too.

EA? As in Dungeon Keeper? KKND? Crusader No Remorse / Regret?

I would like there be a virtual game discount box, with boxes that can become
damaged, as the game sells. It would become dented, get crushed
corners, tears.......good memories.
