This week, a compilation called "Tropico Reloaded" - containing the original Tropico, its expansion Paradise Island, and its sequel, Tropico 2: Pirate Cove - appeared on most digital outlets.
The question in hand is: how likely is that it will show up on GOG? I'd like to have a slight idea, so I can decide if I wait a little longer or buy it right now from someone else (I'd prefer to buy it on GOG, of course).
So, anyone?
From the FAQ:

Will you be adding *insert game/publisher here* to the GOG library?

GOG does not release specific information on prospective games or publishers until they already have agreements in place. They will not comment on who or what they are trying to get, only what they do have. Check the site's main page for news on what is coming soon, it gets updated every Thursday.
2K doesn't have a deal with GOG yet, so I doubt it will come anytime soon. But if Tropico comes in, that means so will the Railroad Tycoon games. In other words, that's a whole bunch of awesomeness
But, that's wishful thinking anyway
Romulus, I've read the FAQ, but this questions is a little bit more than "will you have the game" - it's something like "give me a hint if there's even a chance of seeing this game around here, so I can decide if I wait or buy it from someone else".
It's a small difference, I'll give you that, but nonetheless different in character. That's all.

I thought it the same difference s'all.
I don't know. If I were you, I'd wait, since I really don't think it's something you absolutely need right now, but if after a couple of weeks the game doesn't show up, then buy it somewhere else.
Also keep in mind that GOG doesn't sell almost any game past the $10 limit, so if Reloaded costs more than that in other venues, chances are it won't make it to GOG's catalog.

It's just that I'm really in the mood for a good city builder, and I missed Tropico when it came out. I've wanted to play it for a long time, and now that it's easily available, with excellent pricing... I got overexcited, hence my "urgency". But what you say is most likely the best approach, indeed.
Reloaded is indeed above GOG's price ranges, but GOG might "split" it in a Tropico 1 bundle (9.99) and a Tropico 2 release (5.99?). It might be a dollar more expensive that way, but I'd be willing to pay that extra dollar to get it on GOG, for sure.

Actually, for Tropico, GOG wouldn't need to strike a deal with 2K - apparently, all digital releases have been acquired from Kalypso Media, the european distributor.

A friendly word of advice.
I'd advise anyone who thinks a certain game has GOOD* chances of showing up on GOG and would really* like to know if it will to inquire about it via contact->feedback. I did so, asking about The Guild 2 (because I saw it in a Hungarian game store's catalogue, and seeing The Guild Gold is here, I wanted to know wether I should buy it on a disk or wait for it to arrive on GOG), and they answered very politely that it's not on schedule in the near future.
*But don't abuse this feature; let's not overwhelm the staff with such questions, shall we?

I did that one time, asking about Gothic 2 Gold. I ended buying it twice, since, at the time, it was not on GOG's plans (even if it eventually made it to GOG).
This time, however, I decided to post on the forum, for two main reasons: one, GOG can check the forum on their leisure, and decide if they will answer or not; two, other people might have the same question, and I'd say a single forum topic is better than several emails from different individuals.

Hmm. You're right that one forum topic is better than numerous e-mails, but then again, the boards could easily clogged up with such threads.
(Also, I didn't intend it against you, but as a suggestion to anyone who is in the same situation, and I didn't want to start a new thread for it.)

Good point. I'll refrain myself from doing that again.
Any idea if it'll go retail? In Australia?

prakaa: Any idea if it'll go retail? In Australia?

doubtful. seeing the state of pc games in australia I really don't see it coming here (my local game shop cut PC games shelf by another 20% :( )
it is on steam for 15 bucks.
Ill wait tough for gog version. won't be buying it from anywhere else.
I've never played civilization / city building games like this before (a demo or two maybe) but I could give this one a shot just to get to play Manuel Antonio Noriega, the rat bastard dictator we had back in the eighties. This way, if I lose, I couldn't care less and would find it fitting for him to fail in a disastrous way.
I don't know if I will buy it when it arrives here (if ever), because I have bought Tropico Anthology (T1+T1:Paradise Island+T2) for ~12€+shipping from one czech shop.
