Yes.
Hell yes!
I've never seen the original Tron *ducks incoming chairs and tomatoes* but this looks awesome!
By the way is the original Tron good? I'm thinking of renting it this sometime soon, maybe this weekend.

Holy balls!
The Walt Disney intro with its shinyness and magic kinda killed my boner though.

I watched it again recently. In my opinion, it still holds up. It's definitely worth watching if you plan to watch Tron Legacy.
Fun fact: Tron was disqualified by the Motion Picture Academy from getting the award for best special effects because they "cheated" by using computers. It's interesting how much has changed since 1982.

Do it. It's pretty dated, but it's a classic, it's a good movie and it's an important piece of cultural history.
Edit: Just saw the trailer. I've never seen a movie in 3D yet, but this one, I think I have to. More Tron goodness :-D

You bet your ass it is! Go and rent
DO WANT.
I bet 'Tron-Guy' exploded when he saw this trailer. It's great they got Bruce and Jeff back for the sequel.

It's one of the classics of its era. It's pretty much mandatory you see it. In fact I should watch it again sometime soon as my memory of it is getting patchy.

I would say it is more like a "cult classic" of its era and is important for being one of the first (but not the first) movies to use a mix of live action with computer generated effects and environments. I actually own the 25th anniversary special edition DVD set of the movie (because I really am that big of a nerd) and still watch it occasionally. If you really want to get into the Tron universe, after watching the movie, you need to find a copy of the Tron 2.0 game, its one of the most criminally underrated action FPS/RPGish type games out there.

Yeah, but they left out Cindy Morgan for some as yet unexplained reason, which is a real shame.

Delixe: And David Warner

See, leaving him out makes some kind of sense to me, story-wise. He was finished, both in the digital world and the real world, by the end of the first film, so what purpose would he serve, other than as a cameo appearance from his jail cell, in the new one? Cindy's character, on the other hand, was still involved with Alan and an active part of the new ENCOM run by Flynn. I'm sure this new film is ignoring the events of the Tron 2.0 video game, but what happened in that is pretty much the only explanation I would accept for a lack of her character (i.e. she and Alan got married, had a kid, she was killed/partially digitized in a lab accident and is now part of the program Ma3a).
