Don't worry. OP specifically mentions "trolls". You might sabotage and take over threads, and yes, I think you have an agenda (O.O), but you're definitely not a troll. Everyone knows by now that the green guys are orcs and not trolls (I can see through your Christmas Ghost disguise).

Yeah but subtler mate. Trolls operate in the serious / can't be serious grey space. Calling their bluff will either reveal their insincerity, or if they're good at it, be indistinguishable from actual sincere held opinions or beliefs, in which case they might think they've trolled you, but if you look at it from the other side, I've just had a pleasant experience.

Seriously though, perversity takes effort, most trolls are too lazy. Call their bluff by taking them seriously at face value, they'll usually fold, or go all in.

1. Ignore user function.
2. Off-Topic forum with moderated on-topic forums.
3. Rep should mean something or be done away with (if it means something, we need tools to see where it is coming from or going to - i.e. which posts are losing/gaining rep and by how many votes, etc).

I don't agree. This leaves no place for gamers to post general, gaming related posts without having to browse through oodles of off-topic stuff. Currently, we only have game specific pages to talk about very specific games. If I want to post about gaming headsets, MMO's, software compatibility... I've currently got to browse through a troll infested mess of religious, political, joke-filled, hodgepodge of stuff I don't care about to do it.

For the topic at hand, I think troll's would spend most of their time in the off-topic, leaving a gaming related section to people who want to discuss games. it wouldn't solve it completely, but currently GOG only offers a single "general" forum which is, for the most part, off-topic. So, semantically, maybe what we really need is an ON-Topic forum. Tomato/potato ;)

Edit though really whats needed are more topic icons (like we already have news / questions) and better filtering of those (and tha ability to ignore and make a topic non-public). It would take little effort on GOGs part too...

yes. I like that... and better searchable functions in general (not bugged search results) would also aid in keeping you from having to scroll through everything.

My stance against ignore functions and additional forums hasn't changed since the last time they were discussed. Not at all a fan of stronger forum moderation either.
