P.S. I know about the deals thread, but it gets more publicicity this way
I picked this up yesterday. I played the demo of this game when it came out and enjoyed it, but I wasn't prepared to pay the asking price, since I'd heard it wasn't very long or challenging. I've been waiting for a sale like this, though. Ten is the magic number.
Well I grabbed it when it was $20 on steam and I sure as hell got my money's worth. The game is awesome. Glad I didn't wait for it on PS3, can't say I liked the combat controls on that
I need more money!
also, most of these sales should last past friday..
Looks interesting. Man I need a job!
I bought it and it is a great game, well worth the $10.00. I am completely enjoying the game.
I got the hard copy version which I don't think had DRM either, but I guess it might have stealth assaulted me.
Game is overrated though I thought, it looks nice and having a PC-focused platformer is great, but it just isn't much fun to play for me for some reason.

Same here. Sure - it's fun to swing on the grappling hook for a while... but even that gets frustrating when you lose ALL the damn momentum once you hit a skeleton -_-'. Sure - it sounds like a minor detail but these little shortcomings are exactly what stops the game from being great.
(disclaimer: it's been a while since I played Trine, so I might remember some of the things wrong)
One reason why playing the Thief sucks:
When you swing, you want to be swift and unstoppable, yet enemies slow you down every damn time.
One reason why playing the Knight sucks:
When you charge, you want to kick the damn things into a pit (cue 300 reference), yet you are vulnerable as hell during the entire animation and most of the time end up getting hurt... and if the kick isn't an instantkill, you don't even push the damn things back.
One reason why playing the Wizard sucks:
When using telekinesis, you want to THROW things at the enemies (the way it works, for example, in Creatures 3), but in Trine they lose ALL momentum once you let go of them (and gently fall back down) :\.
Question: has Gamersgate gotten a clue about basic security practices since I originally created an account around 5 months ago (e.g. not storing account passwords as plaintext and sending them over e-mail). Unless someone there has been clued into their horrendous security practices there's no way I'm trusting them with any credit card info.
Disclaimer: Very, very drunk right now.
Trine is a lovely game, well worth the initial price and a steal at this price.

GamersGate never sees your credit card info. From their FAQ:
"NOTE: Gamersgate uses payment services, provided by other companies, and we do not deal with payments at all. All is done via payment services (like Paypal, Click and buy and Paynova)."
Meh, $5 is the magic number for me. Should have been $10 from the start. But, Steam might have spoiled me.
If it is possible, could some from the other side of the pond gift to me, in exchange for a Paypal transfer or GoG of equal price? They've adopted the same shitty €=$ crap as Steam, which means that I'll be paying slightly above $5 more than the American crowd. It's probably still worth it at this price, but I feel rather cheap today.
