I want a futuristic RTS and those seem like an option.but I'm want to know which one is the best.

I have not played earth 2160 in some time, so have that in mind.

Overall, I would recommend total annihilation. TA is considered to be one of the all time greatest RTSs. It has plenty of different units, and allows for a lot of different strategies. It is also a rather challenging game, with a high skill ceiling. You also get a lot of game for your money with TA, because not only do you get a lengthy campaign, you also get the expansion and all the bonus units, which expands the game even further.

Another game that I would recommend checking out is Warzone 2100 (but do get TA as well). Warzone offers quite a few interesting gameplay elements, like persistent units, unit design and some rather interesting unit abilities. It is one of my all time favourite RTSs (and it is free!)

Total Annihilation. No question about it. The strategy. The extreme number of units (both in terms of variety and quantity on the battlefield). The music. At the time it was the perfect RTS and it's still holding its own today.
how many units I can have on the battlefield?

In a skirmish / multiplayer you can have 250 or more. I think that there are some maps / settings that allow for more. But certainly 250 as a minimum for skirmish / multiplayer.
Total Annihilation. I found Earth 2160 to be a very bland and boring experience.
Honestly, I wouldn't bother with either one, Warzone 2100 is where it's at, but that's just me.

But, these games in general are a lot better if you can arrange a LAN party. In a perfect world that's how RTS games would always be played.
Well I'd choose Earth 2150, actually. Total Annihilation is kinda weak in SP, and Earth 2160 is quite simply boring.

In terms of single player 2150 is a stroke of genius. Customisable units, unit carry-over and game mechanics beautifully crafted to suit the storyline. On those terms it is still without equal.

Of course, interface and controls could be better...

Yea it's also pretty damn challenging. Unless you're playing Lunar Corporation, it's pretty easy then (I like that thou, the whole game was TOO challenging for me, but I really enjoyed LC campaign a lot)

I would second that. Earth 2150 was years ahaed of its time (it still is!). Earth 2160 just fell flat, I could never get into it (and it received a lot of flak in Germany thanks to beeing one of the first games that was used for those legal exploitation letters).
I'd vote E2150, too.

TA just seems too Japanese animé for my tastes. Close runner-up, I'd rank it.

Definitely E2160 was a damp squib.

I'll give Earth 2150 another go, but I never really got what the big deal was with those games.

Well you're probly not gonna like it, after all I didn't like warzone. I was more referring to the 'RTS are multiplayer' kind of thing

Oh, well yeah. But by the same token, I already owned it so there's very little to be lost by installing it again.
