I was thinking of getting TL2, I played one and thought it was a bit....meh.

Is there much difference between 1 and 2, I'm not interested in online play as I will be concentrating on Lineage and PoE when its released.

Thanks for any advice.
The main differences I see in Torchlight 2 are:

~ bigger
~ more polished
~ huge outdoor areas
~ not repetitive feeling as the first
~ new difficulty modes after completion
~ faster movement speed which makes the game flow better

It's more of the same just done a lot better IMO. I liked the first one but love the second. It's great for casual gaming and fun multiplayer
If you're going to get Torchlight, do it now, you're not going to want to play it after you play Torchlight 2.
I think it's best that we all forget that Torchlight 1 exists. The sequel is amazing!
Torchlight 2 isn't a game changer but it does everything bigger and better.

I played it back at release, but never finished it.

Thanks for the feedback :)
Torchlight 2 is great. It's very fluid. Granted it's still a very conservative game, but for $20, you can't go wrong.

I hated Torchlight 1.

Maybe there’s not so much of a real difference. But in my opinion Torchlight 2 feels so much better than its predecessor in really any and every aspect.

Most notable though, it feels way more polished and is less repetitive. And it really has some great levels.

Personally, I have never finished the first game and I have a lot more fun with the second game now.

But why not simply try out the demo and decide by yourself?

I mIsread your post. Yes, if you didn't finish it, don't bother. I didn't finish the first one either. I haven't finished TL2 yet, but it looks a lot more promising. There's just so much more to do. With the coming cold weather I should have better luck. My laptop does not seem to like me gaming in weather over 17 degrees. I'm not sure if that's Celsius or Fahrenheit. :-P

It's not like the plot to TL2 is going to make any sense either way.
