Eurogamer reveals that Torchlight 2 is still on track for this year and will be $19.99. It also shows the game's final class, a female fire mage. Online and offline play are included in the purchase.

Not sure why anyone would call Diablo 3 a better deal at this point.

Your local Blizzard fanboy called Angel Kavazov would. :p

But would also get Torchlight 2 too.

Just like I don't care about MW vs BF, so do I not care about D3 vs Torchlight. Getting both games would give you the best gaming experience.

Nice! Now if they would just release some projected system requirements, I'd be ecstatic... or crushed, if they are too high for my pitiful machine. It was able to run the first Torchlight with no problems, so hopefully the sequel will be just as scaleable for crap hardware like mine.
Diablo 3 will most likely have fancier cutscenes and maybe shinier things. People love shinier things.

That price and mage class look great. I'm so getting that Torchlight 2, and I should probably get the first one as well.
Really stoked for it. Hopefully in Steam there'll be a discount for owners of the first game.

Speaking of that, I should finish my Hard Alchemist run of that. Goddamn Black Palace.

If you still need the first one before the end of the first week of September, I'll toss you a copy on Steam. It DESERVES your playtime.

Certainly. If you're an online focused player and love these games I am sure getting both is the right thing to do. I am just saying looking at them purely on value TL2 has offline play, mod tools and costs $40 less.

Seriously? :D

Which is why TL2 is going to be what I'll get first.

Diablo 3 will cost about 20 bucks over my monthly limit on a good month. I'll wait till I see a nice sale on Amazon.

Someone once told me that Torchlight is a game where you "go into a mine, collect gold, give it to your dog, then you move deeper into the mine, forever", and that is why I never even bothered to find out what it was about or get it. I actually only found out what it's like because of that Music Clip Game 3 thread by ceemdee ("hey, this sounds like Uelmen, I love Uelmen. it IS Uelmen!").
Thank you for the kind offer, but I'll pass as I can afford it myself. :)

Yes :p
You may be interested to know that the reason I sort of lost interest in Diablo 3 initially was that I didn't like the classes (or how they seemed)... and I hated how the sorceress in D2 didn't have any pants. This ember lady has pants! It's great.
lol , the ember lady does have them :)
cant wait
Damn it, another game to get... Can't wait for this.
I'll wait for reviews. If the difficulty level fluctuates as much as the first one did, and the story is as shallow and uninteresting, I think I'll skip it.

Actually that's a pretty accurate description of the game but aren't all Diablo clones like that? (except for the pet which Diablo didn't have). I enjoyed Torchlight quite a bit until my OCD kicked it and I wouldn't willingly sell the loot I had never used to make room for new loot that I would never use either. Same thing happened to me with Diablo and Borderlands, I like to collect loot but the moment my chest is full I quit =/

I have the original Torchlight, I really found it boring after a few hours, I imagine I will probably feel the same about it's sequel. That's just my personal opinion, mind you.

D3 will far exceed TL 1 and 2 in terms of graphics, gameplay anf longevity, but again that's just my own personal opinion.
