Is anyone organising a 4 pack get-together? On GamersGate with the IGN minion you can get it down to £38.24, or £9.56 each.

EDIT: I went ahead and just bought the game.

Has anyone had any firewall problems with TL2, i was able to create a account and link my steam account but when I try to join a game I get a message saying firewall problem detected. I have an exception through win7 firewall. i was wondering if this has to do with the overload on runic servers?
I loved Torchlight 1, and I'm loving Torchlight 2.

I'm a sad case who plays single player so the multiplayer downtime doesn't faze me.

This game also has the record for the fastest achievement I have ever earned in a game; At character creation =).

Yep, that's the bit I'm now stuck on. Each time I think I've got it all solved, then something else comes up. Very frustrating.
I love it, combat is so much better than the first, very much more crispy. Playing Embermage, most probably going Ice/Lightning.

It just started working for me, though I'm not sure why, I didn't do anything differently than before. Strange stuff.

its working for me too, I had a feeling it was due to the overload and runic servers.....
Played it for an hour (unintentionally), just meant to try it out for 5 minutes before rebooting for Windows Updates.

I guess their servers are doing better now? I didn't have any trouble signing up for a runic account.

I did have trouble getting the last bits of the pre-load patch however, that took an age. Started out at 2 megs/sec download for the first 300 megs of the latest patch and then dropped to 100k/sec for the last 200 megs. Annoying.

I started a female Beserker named Mania (with a bulldog named Mr. Pancakes).

I don't like the look of the lightning/Ice magic tree for the Beserker so I'll stick with the melee and spirit wolf trees. Hopefully there's a 'Leap' like move akin to the Diablo 2 Barbarian.

mistermumbles: Gah! I don't want to deal with Steam/Securom. It's a rarity for me but I'm actually considering going a-plundering on the digital high seas... and hoping T2 may eventually show up here so I can pay them then. *grumbles*
This is one of the reasons why DRM exists, someone doesn't like one thing about something they did not create and use it as an excuse to steal someones work. Runic created a great game at a more then fair price, it kills Diablo 3 (that cost 3 times as much) and I am not sure the reasons why for the DRM but Runic is partnered with Perfect World and maybe they imposed this on them.

I am glad the multiplayer has DRM maybe it will keep it cleaner from cheats and bots.

By the way I love this game........

Are you serious? He's saying he's waiting for it to come to gog so he can pay, and if they wait to long he'll have to go rogue until they get it on gog to pay. I'm not quite sure how that makes it ok for DRM on a site that specifically hates DRM. What part are you not getting? They won't get my money either (BG enhanced won't either) until I can pay via GOG.com! I REFUSE to pay any DRM company. DRM stops nobody but honest customers from enjoying their HONESTLY paid for game. The p1rates actually rip out that crap anyway. So in effect the evil guy gets to enjoy the game the way I SHOULD BE enjoying it. I won't be waiting much longer myself as it's been online since it hit the steam shelf and before. I will pay as soon as it gets to gog (and when I have time to play...which I don't right now or I wouldn't be waiting). It was posted TWO days ago! I don't expect to pay less than $20, but I do expect to get it on GOG! Or I will merrily be playing LONG before paying (if ever if they keep it off gog). Gog or no money from me :) Since TL1 is here already I expect TL2 before xmas on GOG as I'll take the time to play then, legal or not at that time. Gog will be the only company that gets my money for some time to come, unless I really want some game and it's DRM free elsewhere.

I say that as a person who hasn't played the games I've already purchased here at all (no time currenlty). But I've made a bunch of money for gog by referring people to a site they've never heard of but now enjoy (my own nephew included..."what's gog?"...LOL). My nephew still plays doom though, so he really enjoys this site & is chomping at the bit to get BG1 Enhanced just for easy win7 & higher res than he played years ago + extra content. He enjoys good games regardless of the graphics as noted (doom? He's nuts...LOL & 19!). But in his defense he grew up using command prompt to change games at 3yrs old in dos!). :) We didn't teach him either...ROFL. He watched his uncle (me) and dad and we came into the room one day and he was busy changing games...ROFLMAO. At 3.5yrs old...LOL. So much for us controlling his gaming. We both own boxed copies of BG1 & BG2 already though. He's played both, but I got wrapped up with Wizardy 7/8 at the time (the icewind dales also), so missed it until now and figure I'll just wait for enhanced 1 & 2. I already complained at BG1 forum hoping for gog (no word yet).

Gog working on Torchlight2 & BG1 Enhanced? BG1 delayed anyway, but I'd like to hear it's being worked on for xmas in both cases. I'd like to hear TL2 by Thanksgiving actually as I may have time to play by then. DRM is evil. ;)

Their are games on Gog that have a CD key verification (Neverwinter nights multiplayer), So to say that is a reason to steal a game from a smaller developer that obviously put their heart and soul into their game I think is low.

Torchlight 2 has a "simple" DRM solution. Both the patching and matchmaking features in the game will require logging into a Runic account, while running the game itself and playing in single player would not require logging in. Those who own the game through Steam will need to link their Steam account to their Runic account in order to play online, but will be able to patch the game through Steam.
